Hello, I'm Samantha Yip Mun San, you can call me Sam. I'm 23 years old and from the beautiful Perak district of Malaysia. Being from Malaysia, which is a multiracial and multicultural nation, I am bilingual, speaking Chinese and Cantonese fluently, as well as English and Malay.

Recently, I joined as a new master student in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. I had two workaway experiences both in Switzerland and Italy during 2024 summer, and I hope to start my new journey during my winter holiday in 2025!!

Wanna know more about me? Let me tell you more! In 2020, I left Malaysia for the first time to embark on an exchange program in Amsterdam, which turned out to be an amazing experience. I spent almost 6 months there and fell in love with that city. It was a chance to explore a new world, experience Western culture, and make friends from diverse backgrounds. During my time in Europe, I also visited countries like Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Iceland, and England, which further enriched my experiences. After my exchange, I returned to China to continue my studies. Over the past two years, I've been actively involved in organizing student associations and international student activities. I also played the 24 festival drum for 2 and half years, participating in many performances. These experiences have not only given me great memories but have also helped me become more brave, confident, and outgoing.

In my free time, I enjoy engaging in cultural exchange activities and meeting new people. I believe that every person has a unique story to tell, and I am always eager to listen and learn from them. I hope to continue my journey of exploration and discovery, both in terms of travel and personal growth. Also, I'm open to sharing my culture, languages, stories, and even cooking recipes with others! I can't wait to meet new people again in a new place!

I have demonstrated leadership skills as a team leader, guiding my teammates through challenging tasks during camping activities in Malaysia
I'm studying at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, one of the TOP 5 Universities in China, and I have consistently achieved good results. I also got scholarships.
I have several working experiences in both Malaysia and Shanghai. I have also worked in a foreign company located in Shanghai, where I contributed to translation, finance, and other essential tasks.
I exchanged to Amsterdam for 6 months, and I honed excellent communication skills and demonstrated independence
I joined student unions in school.
I cook myself in Amsterdam, especially dumplings, soups, and various Chinese dishes.
I can communicate in four languages, I am passionate about multicultural communication and learning from diverse perspectives.
I have travelled to many countries, and I can do well in travel planning.
I have volunteered both in Malaysia and Shanghai. In Malaysia, I assisted in caring for children at a church and organized activities for camps and school events. In Shanghai, I volunteered for two consecutive years, offering henna drawings during the school culture day and helping organize student cultural exchange activities.
