Hi there! :-)
We're Jil & Nico, two best friends from Germany, for the last 10 years.
We are 27 and 28 respectively.
A little bit about Jil (more to come - still editing):
Jil just joined workaway after finishing her Master of Engineering at the University of Aachen. After school she went to Australia for 2 months and has had the wish ever since to return to travelling and experiencing the world. She is interested in natural building, sustainable lifestyles, hiking, meeting people and saving the world with renewable energies.
She is super fun and the best party company ever!
On the other side, she is one of the best persons you could wish for if you're looking for deep, meaningful conversations.
She is one of a kind, truly generous, hard-working and responsible, and never shy to create an unforgettable time for everyone around.
A little bit about Nico and his wishes (might shorten this one actually - sorry for the long read!)
Another wish and true yearning of mine is to learn about herbalism and the healing culture of the druids/the celts. I see myself walking barefoot in the forest a lot, connecting to the spirit of Ireland and finding some healing plants/herbs there. If you have any knowledge regarding that I would be amazed to learn, if not, it would be preferable if there was time after work/on the days off to wander on my own through the forest and see what's calling me. As well I would be happy to maybe start a small fermenting lab/create a small space to create some natural remedies for small injuries/illnesses.
A little bit more about myself:
I'm a true seeker in a sense that I always wonder what's out there, and how humanity could live better than we do right now.
That's also what's taken me to Costa Rica in 2021, where I spent 8 months in the jungle learning about community life and permaculture. We were one of the most famous permaculture communities in the whole world, and if you are interested to find out more please check the Netflix series "Down to Earth" season 1 episode about Costa Rica, where you will get a glimpse about our lifestyle in the last minutes of that 35min episode.
I learned that it's possible to live off-grid in a self-sustainable way, and that we, as humans, choose every single day what our life should be looking like. I learned that it's okay to dream, and that it's possible to make it happen.
I learned that shooting for the moon and the stars is why I'm here, and that I'm not willing to settle for compromises.
A little bit more about me personally:
I like to cook for people, I like to sit around bonfires in the evenings and listen to music and share some stories, I like to be outdoors at all times and what I like the most is true human connection that is heart-felt. Sharing from the heart is what we're all here to express.
Please note that I'm a certified sound healer/sound massage therapist (with tibetan singing bowls) as well as a certified hot stone massage therapist and can offer massages or treatments for you or locally for a small donation that is up to the recipient :-)

I had been new to Australia and they really helped me to ease into my new environment; and they have a very calm and warm personality which makes you feel relaxed and comfortable right from the start :)
