I am a country boy stuck in the city. I grew up in a small Albertan town and moved to Edmonton in 2009. I've been able to take some trips out in the country but it's never enough. I want to see more of our beautiful countryside in Canada starting in Alberta. I have a dream of having my own homestead one day but would have no idea where to start if I tried now. I am looking forward to staying with folks who live as self-sufficiently as they can and learn as much as they are willing to teach me as I help around their homes and land. I would like to learn about gardening, foraging, working with animals, and building from materials found in the forest. I have never shied away from hard labor or long treks in the woods and I quite enjoy it. I am interested in all types of renewable practices as I took one up for my mode of travel. I have an ebike and solar generator that I will use to travel around Alberta and from host to host as I take in this beautiful country and learn some new skills and knowledge.

I am an unindentured 4th year apprentice electrician. So while I can't do major electrical jobs without a journeyman present, I have years of knowledge within the trade. I have also done some plumbing, framing, and heavy equipment operating. I am no stranger to manual labor and quite enjoy it. I can learn new tasks with relative ease. While I haven't trained or worked with many animals, I tend to get along with them quite easily.

I am happiest when I am out in nature.
I enjoy being around all animals and would like to learn how to train and care for them better.
I just got my ebike and am excited to start biking when spring comes.
