Descripción
Hi, I’m Michiko
An art mediator and performance artist in spoken word & movement from Belgium 🌱
(Instagram: @michikolii)
Background & studies: I studied Social Work & Art Mediation and I’m currently continuing my postgrad in Cultural Management. These paths shaped how I connect with people and culture, and they keep me curious about how we share experiences in everyday life.
How I move through the world: I’m curious, sensitive, and attentive to people and places. I love being active and engaged, but I also adapt naturally. Sometimes bringing energy and creativity, sometimes taking a step back to observe and listen.
Cultural exchange: Growing up in a diverse environment, I’ve been part of artistic and cultural initiatives focused on community, representation, and shared experiences. I enjoy connecting people, bridging different contexts, and learning from everyone I meet.
Art & content creation: Alongside my performance work, I use social media and content creation to share workshops, performances, and cultural experiences, helping make art accessible and meaningful to others.
Japan journey: I’m excited to learn from local rhythms of life, creative spaces, and community practices. This journey is personal too. My grandparents had their own connection to Japan, which makes this trip feel especially meaningful.
Interests: Exploring neighborhoods, learning languages, engaging with art, and spending time with people. I love spaces where curiosity, creativity, and care shape how people live and work together.
What I hope to contribute: I want to participate thoughtfully, learn through daily routines, and share my energy and creativity in a sincere way. -

I speak Dutch as my native language, raised in a French-speaking family. Over the years, and through my work and friends, I became fluent in English. I’m currently learning Japanese and would love to practice it in daily-life situations rather than just school-style lessons. I’m also happy to teach and have conversations in Dutch, French, or English, enjoying language exchange while connecting with others. -

Algo más...
I love exploring art and culture in all forms. From galleries and performances to creating my own projects in spoken word and movement. I also enjoy attending concerts, watching films, and discovering local music scenes.
For some downtime, I enjoy games (board, cards), and puzzle-solving, and I’m always happy to join in creative or playful activities with kids or adults.
I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds, exchanging stories, and learning about new ways of life. -
