It's simple:
I want to invest my time in a great cause, I want to work, I want to develop new skills, I want to learn, i want to see the world while helping, i want to meet people and i want to make the best out of this wonderful life that has been given to us!

This is what brought me to Work Away: my desire to improve myself and explore different cultures while giving back to the community!

I am a social worker: Helping others has always been in my nature. I am understanding and joyful

I've been using Work Away to travel for the 5th year in a row now, escaping the harsh Canadian winter

Que habilidades tienes?

People say i'm a cheerful quick learner.
I have skills in different areas:

Tourism:
I worked as a tour guide in different countries. I did kayaking tours in the ocean and snorkeling tours in bays in Ecuador. I've also been a tour guide for volcanoes and camping trip in Nicaragua. I'm not afraid of mud or sweat, and I put the client first! :)

Animal care:
I am very passionate about animals and wildlife: it's one of my favorite thing about traveling.
I have experience with animal care and animal handling. I volunteered in dog shelters, but also in a rescue center with monkeys, crocodiles and horses. I have experience with farm animals too. I also worked in a veterinary clinic in the past.

Social:
I am a certified Profesionnal Social Worker.
I have experience in immigration and mental health, working mostly with adults, elderly and families.
I worked with people suffering from depression, schizophrenia, grief, anxiety and much more, trying to find balance in life. There is always hope.

Hospitality:
I volunteered in hostels while traveling in different countries and i'm always learning so much from it. I did cleaning, sweeping, yard work and gardening amongst most thing. Basically if you explain it well to me, i can do!

Permaculture:
I've been initiated to planting, pruning, mulching, harvesting and other tasks. I have experience working in garden, farm and even forest. The hardest part is waiting for the fruits to be ripe! ;)

Childcare:
I also have a lot of experience in babysitting, pet-sitting and house sitting.
I started babysitting when I was 13 years old. I have experience with babies, children, teenagers, pets, plants and even small shop keeping. I value people's trust a lot.

Language:
I speak french, I did some tutoring for college students. I also speak English and Spanish. I would love to learn a bit of Swahili!

I would like to be around friendly, open-minded people for cultural exchange.
I volunteered in the past in different organisations and events.
I like to cook in group and I enjoy discovering and trying new recipes.
I come from a very multiethnic and open-minded part of Canada, in the city of Montréal: I am really excited about this cultural exchange!
In my freetime, I enjoy cycling, walking, playing guitar, listening to music, painting, drawing, reading and watching documentaries! Life has so much to offer!
