Hello! 👋🏼

We are Michelle and Andrew, a couple from Scotland who have been together nearly five years and are travelling 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Having graduated in Psychology (Michelle) and International Marketing (Andrew) we have spent time travelling through New Zealand and the East Coast of Australia, and hope to use Workaway as a way to connect with people, learn new skills and experience everyday life in new places.

We both love people, good food and the outdoors, open water swimming (yes - it is FREEZING in the sea in Scotland!!!), nature, the sky, hiking and animals (we have two family dogs back home). For the past 3 years we have been social media free — we prefer real conversations and getting involved with what’s in front of us, appreciating it and making special memories. We would love to live a life which is slow and rewarding without all of the pressures of media and busy society.

What we bring (Besides our backpacks 🧳, curiosity and a habit of accidentally bringing good old Scottish weather with us☔️):

* Used to long hours on our feet having worked in Military show events for four years (10hours per day 6 days a week)
* Strong organisation, communication and people skills
* Experience working with children (including special needs) - Michelle as a teaching assistant and Andrew as a sports coach - also done plenty of years experience with childcare
* Experience with pet care and dog walking, as well as house sitting
* Love to volunteer - helped with fundraisers, charity work and conservation work
* We love cooking and would love to share and exchange some recipes
* We are trustworthy, respectful of others’ space, sociable when it suits and independent when needed.

We are hardworking, easy-going, positive, and excited by the chance to gain new skills, meet people and have experiences outside our comfort zone - learning through doing is a big reason we started to travel😊

Que habilidades tienes?

We both have a varied amount of experience across different fields - which shows our adaptability to differing roles and responsibilities , as well as our ability to pick up new tasks quickly and efficiently.

Specifics:
• Both just graduated with first class BA (Hons) degrees in Psychology and International Marketing
• Andrew has played hockey for 14 years and won the Scottish School Hockey Championship and captained his club and university team, as well as hockey coached = this shows how dedicated and committed he can be
• Michelle was a synchronised swimmer for 7 years and was the swim coordinator & event secretary for her university open water swimming club
• Michelle won the Health and Food Technology Prize in 2020 - love for food and has an eye for detail when it comes to cleanliness and preparation in all aspects of life

Michelle’s job experience:
• Event supervisor, Accessibility steward, marketing assistant and business liaison for top military show event for 4 years
• Customer Service and Admin assistant for sustainable luxury women’s fashion brand - ongoing
• Teaching Assistant at Top private school - over 1 year
• Teaching assistant volunteer at special needs school - short term
• Crèche Volunteer - over 1 year
• Brownies Girlguiding Young Leader - 3 years
• Supermarket experience - short term
• Charity shop volunteer and fundraiser - 1 year
• Some experience working in cafe preparing food and dealing with orders - short term

Andrews job experience:
• Hockey coach for children
• Treasurer and Captain for Hockey club - multiple years

• Digital Marketing Assistant for sustainable luxury women’s fashion brand - 1 year
