Hello! We’re Matthew and Lucy, a friendly, hardworking couple from the UK currently travelling Australia on a Working Holiday Visa. We love meeting new people, learning new skills, and helping out wherever we can.

Matthew is a fully qualified electrician in the UK with strong experience in maintenance, installation, and construction work. He’s practical, reliable, and enjoys hands-on tasks like repairs, building, and general maintenance. He’s always happy to lend a hand and find solutions to any problem.

Lucy is caring, organised, and great with people and animals. She enjoys keeping spaces tidy and welcoming, whether that’s helping with cleaning, cooking, food service, or caring for animals.

We both share a love for the outdoors and staying active; we enjoy hiking, exploring new places, and both play rugby, which has taught us teamwork, discipline, and resilience in all conditions.

We’re lifelong animal lovers, having grown up around rescued pets and wildlife, and we’re confident caring for both domesticated and farm animals. We’re tidy, respectful, and take pride in doing a good job.

We’re currently based in Hervey Bay/K'Gari until April. We’re looking forward to contributing, learning, and sharing great experiences along the way!

We’re both practical, reliable, and happy to get stuck into a wide range of jobs. Our skills and experience include:

General maintenance & labouring: confident using hand tools, assisting with repairs, painting, cleaning, and outdoor maintenance.

Gardening & land work: mowing, weeding, planting, watering, fencing, and keeping outdoor spaces tidy.

Animal care: comfortable feeding, walking, and caring for both pets and farm animals — we’ve both grown up with rescued animals and understand their needs.

Hospitality & customer service: over 10 years of combined experience helping behind a busy bar and food counter, serving customers, handling cash, and keeping things clean and organised.

Cooking & cleaning: happy to help prepare meals, wash up, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.

House sitting: responsible, respectful, and experienced caring for properties and animals while owners are away.

Teamwork & communication: both play rugby and enjoy outdoor activities — we work well together and bring a positive, can-do attitude to every job.

Adaptability & reliability: comfortable with long days, varied tasks, and working in all weather conditions.

We take pride in doing a good job, enjoy learning new things, and are always willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed.

We both love travelling, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures. We’re active people who enjoy playing rugby, hiking, and spending time outdoors. We also love being near the ocean (would love to learn to surf), spending time at the beach, and we’re both keen to scuba dive whilst here as we're both advanced divers.
