Hi there, I'm Marta and I'm new here! Found workaway quite recently and I'm still in awe with it.
I guess you can call me a "mature workawayer" ;) but considering the fact that my travelling journey has begun in late 2023, I feel like I'm just getting started.

I'm a new workawayer but I do have recent experience in living with a stranger who became my close friend in France. We shared appartment and meals cooked mostly by me. I also took care of general maintainance of the flat and helped his daughter with school arts projects.

With a youthful spirit and willingness to always learn more, help more ad create more, I registered here with a strong urge to join a new community.

Always curious about new places, new human connections and new tastes. After working for years as a journalist, PR person and then event organizer in my native Poland, I switched careers in my late thirties to cooking professionally. Soon after I started fulfilling my cooking and travelling dreams abroad. After spending time in different parts of France, I began my next adventure in the Netherlands. Right now I'm located in North Brabant area, taking a break from cooking and maintaining my work-life balance.

Besides being passionate about food and travels, I'm a dog lover and music aficionado (used to write about music and had periods in life when DJ-ing was my hobby). I also love visiting local farmer's markets in the mornings and long walks in the nature that include foraging.

I think that the best things in life are free! I value simplicity in all aspects of my life - being low key, reading a book in a cosy cafe, biking and being surrounded by good people. My perfect evening would consist of long, meaningful conversations with great wine and homemade dishes full of seasonal fruits and veggies (I'm mostly vegan).

I'm short (156 cm/5,1) but quite strong and dynamic!

I like darts and I'm good at it.

I'm interested in racial and queer issues.

I love visiting vintage markets and second hands and finding treasures there. Also - cosy bookstores and vinyl shops are my gems!

Besides my native Poland, I lived in the US (in 2004) and France (2023-2025). Now I'm exploring the Netherlands.
