Hi! We are Laurens Jansen and Paula Vaarkamp: an enthousiastic and social couple that loves to travel and meet new people. From the 28th of December till somewhere in March, we will be travelling to Mexico to volunteer at a hostel, as well as discovering the beauty that Mexico has to offer.

Some extra info about Laurens:
Hello! My name is Laurens Jansen and I'm from Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
Ever since 2018, I've been travelling to Central America to discover all the beauty that is to be found there: nature, culture, language and above all: the lovely people.
I love meeting new people and learning about cultures and languages, that's why I made these the main purposes of our trip: improving my Spanish, while making new friendships and at the same time help owners of hostels out by volunteering for them.

I am a social guy and I love to hear the stories other people have to tell about their travels around the world. I like talking to fellow travelers a lot, because their attitude against the world and other people really resonates with me.
One very strong belief I hold is that every encounter we have with other people, holds a lesson for your own life. Living with this belief makes every encounter very interesting and valuable, even if you don't like the person in front of you!

I have always had direct contact with clients in my previous jobs (Data consulting, catering/restaurants, handling complaints on the phone) and I always put the customers' need first.

Hi there! I'm Paula. A spontaneous, adventurous person who loves to meet new people, countries and cultures. My boyfriend Laurens and me love to travel and we can't wait to visit Mexico. Laurens visited 3 times before. For me it would be the first time. I'm very open, socially skilled and enthousiastic. I love being active and sporty preferably in or around water.
Because of my work in social media and website design, I can also help out to take your socials and website to a new level.

I have always been interested in languages and the culture behind them. I started learning Spanish in 2018 and I think it's the most beautiful language in the world. I'm eager to improve my Spanish skills while in Mexico!My girlfriend Paula hasn't studied Spanish before, but is very eager to learn the language to better navigate her way through Latin America.We are both fluent in English and Dutch and would definitely help anyone wanting to learn those languages.
