Hi there! :D
My name is Karo, I'm 22 years old and from a small town in Germany.
I'm currently in my fourth semester, studying social work at Uni. In my semester break this summer, I'd love to travel some more with workaway. I'm looking forward to getting to know new people and learning and experiencing as much as I can. :)

After finishing school in 2022, I took two years off before starting University in 2024.
Apart from different workaways and small travels, I did 12 months of voluntary work in a social facility and worked with people with a mental illness, which in the end lead me to study social work at Uni. After my voluntary service, I worked in a dog centre with a daycare and pension service. Growing up I've always wanted to have a dog, so working there felt like an absolute dream come true!! I loved taking care of and cuddeling all the dogs. I worked there for 10 months and still miss it every day.. ;)
And two years ago, after another lovely workaway in Ireland with my best friend, I moved to a bigger city and started my studies. Since I moved away frome home, I don't have access to a garden anymore, which is quite sad.. I can't wait to surround myself with nature again and get to touch some soil in my semester break :D

I'm happiest out in nature and love hiking, going on loong walks or any other kind of physical activity. I also really enjoy running! Back at home I used to do horseback riding.
Some of my favorite things to do are reading, baking and gardening. Other than that, I love all kinds of creative things like crocheting, crafting, furniture upcycling, painting and I'm interested in art & photography. I love animals, especially dogs & horses:)

I grew up with a big garden and am not afraid to get my hands dirty.
Other than that, I really enjoy being around and caring for all kinds of animals. I'm experienced with dogs & horses.
I would love to learn more about gardening, horses and life on a small farm.

I am more of an introvert and a quiet person. I'd rather spend a saturday night crocheting and chatting, than out partying. I'm fine with spending time alone but also really enjoy meeting new people, though I might need some time to get comfortable. :)
