Welcome to my profile! :)

My name is Julia and I’m from Germany. I work as a teacher for sports and home economics/life skills, and I truly enjoy working with people — especially children. Their energy, honesty, and curiosity always make me smile. :)
Because of my job, I’m lucky to have some free weeks during summer, which I love to use for travelling, meeting new people, discovering different cultures, and collecting unforgettable experiences.

I would describe myself as an open-minded, positive, and down to earth person. I enjoy learning new things, stepping out of my comfort zone, and helping wherever help is needed. I’m definitely not afraid to get my hands dirty — whether it’s gardening, painting, cleaning, cooking, building something, babysitting, or any other practical work.
I actually enjoy hands-on work and the good feeling after a productive day.

I love being outdoors and spending time in nature. Sports are a big part of my life and give me a lot of energy. I enjoy yoga, cycling, swimming, hiking, and snowboarding in winter. I’m also active as a trainer in a local gymnastics club.

Besides that, I love music and enjoy playing the guitar — sometimes well, sometimes just enthusiastically ;)

I’m also very comfortable around animals and have been riding horses for over 20 years.

For me, Workaway is not only about travelling, but also about sharing everyday life, learning from each other, laughing together, and creating meaningful connections.

I’m looking forward to my next adventure and hopefully meeting you soon! :)

I have some certificates caring for children, especially in sports activities. To be able to work as a sports teacher and teaching swim lessons, I had to qualify as a lifeguard. My family has a own horse so therefor I have lot of experience with stable work and horse riding.
I'm renovated an apartment with my dad and was able to gain experience there as well.
A few years ago I did a training as a clerk, so I have some business skills as well.

I spent 3 wonderful weeks at this project and loved it very much. It's a marvelous wild place and there is so much to explore. Muna and the whole team is absolutely lovely and I had such a great time there. I can't thank you enough and I'm so grateful for the great experience. Just wonderful!

I was very happy to host Julia, she is such a friendly girl and was a pleasure to have living with us . She worked with the horses and also did a lot of cleaning for me in the house. She was always smiling and in a good mood and is just such a kind hearted person. I wouid highly recommend her.

Patricia has a very nice and warm personality. She is very organized and always in a good mood. She takes care that the volunteers have free time to see the island, go on tours with bikes and have a great time!
I really enjoyed the two weeks at the campsite and could learn so much.

Julia was a lovely person to have around. Would accomplish all the tasks as suppose, always on time, and with a lovely smile all the time. You don't have to teach her all the time as she gets the message at first and keeps the pattern. Was interested in getting connected with what the island has to offer. We are really thankful to her!
