Hi! We’re Goda and Kris, a young couple living in Northern Ireland who are looking to take a break from our usual routines, travel, meet new people and experience life in different parts of the world through Workaway.

I’m 24, originally from Lithuania, and I’ve already completed my first Workaway experience independently. In November 2025, I spent 6 weeks in Frigiliana, Spain, looking after two dogs, taking care of a villa and helping with painting and general jobs around the property. I really enjoyed the experience and it gave me a taste for travelling in a more meaningful way — getting to know the people and place rather than simply passing through as a tourist.

I have 4 years of experience in hospitality, and for the past 6 months, I’ve been working at Belfast City Airport, having started in January 2026, and I’ll be leaving my job in September to focus on travelling and new experiences.

Kris is 21, Latvian by nationality but has grown up and lived in both Ventspils in Latvia and Littlehampton in the UK . He has worked in aviation, specifically ramp and aircraft services, for the past 4 years, and will also be leaving his job in September. He’s very active, outgoing and social, and loves being outdoors, nature and keeping busy. His work and background has taught him to be responsible, work well as part of a team and stay calm and practical in a busy environment.

As a couple, we’re easy-going, respectful, sociable and willing to get stuck in. We don’t mind getting our hands dirty and we’re open to learning things we’ve never done before. We’d much rather have a go and learn along the way than shy away from something because it’s new to us.

We’re open to pretty much any type of Workaway experience. We’d be happy helping with physical work, maintenance, painting, gardening, general property jobs, hostels or guesthouses, animal and pet care, looking after a house, or simply helping with whatever needs doing day-to-day. We’re also happy to work independently when needed, but we’d love opportunities where we can interact with our hosts and become part of the local environment.

We’re not tied to one particular destination either. Australia and Asia are currently at the top of our list, but we’re open-minded and would consider opportunities anywhere that feels like the right fit. For us, the location is only part of the experience — we’re mainly looking for somewhere we can genuinely be useful, learn something new, meet good people and experience a different way of life.

We’re hoping to start our travels in October/ November 2026 and are flexible with the length of our stay depending on the opportunity.

Que habilidades tienes?

Bilingual – Fluent in Lithuanian and English, currently learning Spanish. Happy to share my language skills or learn new ones along the way.

Hospitality & Customer Service – Experience in a 4-star hotel and as a bar supervisor; confident in welcoming guests, making connections, staying organised, and creating a friendly atmosphere.

Teamwork & Communication – Strong ability to collaborate, adapt to new environments, and help keep tasks running smoothly.

Organisation & Responsibility – Background in research and hospitality taught me to be detail-oriented, reliable, and a fast learner.

IT Skills – Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Excel, and general computer tasks; happy to help with admin or tech support.

Practical & Outdoor Work – Enjoy being outdoors and open to gardening, manual tasks, or picking up new hands-on skills.

Creativity – Passionate about painting, drawing, photography, and learning to play the keyboard. Always happy to contribute to DIY or creative projects.
