Hello, there! My name is Darlene, I'm from Brazil and I am a digital nomad with an adventurous spirit, who has been traveling almost full time since 2019! In my travels, my main objective is to immerse myself in new cultures, learn new languages, experience nature and make new friends that I carry for life. I decided to start volunteering so I can also use this time away from home to learn new skills, immerse myself in local cultures and hopefully make a social impact, whenever possible. I love all types of animals, so if volunteering involves animals, all the better! I am a people person and take pleasure in helping and collaborating individually or in teams.
I feel best connected with myself when surrounded by nature, so anything involving hiking, swimming and camping are very fulfilling and bring me immense joy.
I am currently in the Balkan Peninsula and am very excited to be a part of your project!

Que habilidades tienes?

Besides being a digital nomad traveling almost full-time for about 6 years, I have also been an Airbnb host for the same time period. So I understand hospitality from both sides - from the host's side and the client's side. I consider it one of my strengths. I also speak four languages fluently: Portuguese, English, Spanish and French, and am now studying German. I am also looking forward to learning Montenegrin, Serbian or another language of the Southern Slavic family. I believe those can be very useful when working with guests or a team!
I love cleanliness, I am very meticulous and a good hand in the kitchen. I cook well! I also have a decent level of knowledge in arts, crafts and construction, when related to home decoration.
Regarding work, I am currently a civil servant for the government of Brazil, a Certified Translator and Commercial Interpreter - which are now fully remote, which allows me to travel. My hours are completely flexible, I can arrange work as needed. Education wise, I am at the postgraduate level, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with a postgraduate degree in Cardiology and Cath Lab.

I love card and board games. I love swimming and looking at what's under water. I love the company of animals. I love recycling with a passion. I find it very important, particularly when combined with environmental preservation. I would love to do any work in that regard, given the opportunity.
