Dear hosts and fellow Workawayers,
my name is Christiane. I live in Germany and am 55 years old.
Since more than 25 years I work wholeheartedly as (an elementary-school) teacher. I love helping young people to develop their talents and appreciate the contact, the interchange and the sharing with them.
From October 2023 to August 2024 I take a sabbatical year. Both of my children have grown up and left the house. Julia (23y) and Felix (20y) are students now.
This gives me the liberty to travel. I look forward to meeting new people, diving into other cultures, looking beyond my/the horizon, learning new tasks, sharing my knowledge with the world and learning from the world. -

As a teacher I am used to teaching pupils different skills (like languages, reading, writing, mathematics....). At the moment I am very busy improving my skills in French. -

Que habilidades tienes?
As a teacher I like working and communicating with people. Acting responsible and working conscientious is a matter of course.
I am used to working with the pc (but I am not familiar with Facebook and Instagram).
As a single mom I am very well aware of what has to be done in a household and in the garden. I see what has to be done and act accordingly. -

If I would have to descibe myself I would choose:
open minded, dependable, curious, conscientious and with a good sense of humor.
Being no spring chicken I have the serenity to look calmly and with oversight at situations and act accordingly.
I play the flute in my local musical society. A year ago I started taking lessons in playing the harp. Making music is a great joy for me. -
