Descripción

I am on a sabbatical and very happy to have some time off. My children are both abroad for a year and, after 20 years of raising children and working in a large NGO, I have decided to take some time off. I plan to spend time in Canada from the end of April to mid of July and would very much like to volunteer during this time, work in agriculture, eco-projects and gain knowledge and experience in sustainable farming. I am very motivated to do physical work, lend a hand, learn and spend a lot of time outdoors - and to speak English.
In the end of June I plan to pick up my son, who is on a High School exchange at the Canadian Eastcoast. I am easygoing, sociable, patient and hardworking. I don't need much to be happy. I love being in nature and having nice people around. I am persistent, see the work that needs to be done and take initiative.
I have a University degree in social science and live with my husband and my 16 and 19 year old sons in Berlin, Germany.

My 17 year old son and I had the chance to do a workaway at Angie's table grape farm even though we had only 6 days. We liked it a lot and are grateful for this opportunity!! I I had a great time staying with Sonja and Jeff on Gabriola Island. They both gave me such a warm and open welcome, we had wonderful conversations and I felt right at home. I learnt a lot and am grateful for this enriching and inspiring experience!

Cacilie was a cherished member of our team this summer! She channelled her inner-gardening master and helped us get on top of time sensitive weeding, mulching and invasive species control! Her pomegranate rice dish is our new fav and we appreciated her humour, curiosity and big heart. You would be very fortunate to have her on your team!

This was my first workaway, I enjoyed it a lot and highly recommand it! I had a lovely little cabin where I felt very much at home. Everyone was really friendly and the farm is beautiful.
