    Hello, Namaskara!

I was born and raised in a city near the tropical Western Ghats of India.

I didn't really realize it in the beginning, but the forests have truly shaped and nurtured my thought process as a human being! 🌳

The other thing that has definitely helped me is traveling. I guess that's why we're all here :)

In this lifetime, I really hope to travel as often as I can; to continue to learn, live and experience the social, cultural, and ethical nuances attached to different regions and to connect beyond political borders. 🌍

I truly believe we owe this planet and its beautiful beings a chance to continue to exist for generations to come, and we can only do that by getting rid of our biases and stepping out of our comfort zones! 🌱

I studied communication design at Uni, but I would really like to move away from it professionally (I think design played a terrible role in creating the disconnected society we live in today).

The dream is to re-grow a forest, our own food, learn/unlearn from the first indigenous stewards of the land, conserve wildlife, and set up a forest-school and plant nursery for underprivileged kids, somewhere in the tropics! 🏝️ To finally be of some service to Mama Earth for all that she provides. An idea of an alternate economy - a regenerative, sustaining, creative community, would be a super interesting possibility for the whole setup!

I do appreciate an adventure, so if someone wants to help me with my (non-existent) surfing skills, or my lack of ability to climb or If someone wants to go for a hike or a long journey, scuba dive, collect analog cameras or vinyl, then I'd love to tag along! 🌻

Wishing you'll love, light, and energy, 🌞

    Salaam,
    Ameya 🌱

I’m looking to move to Costa Rica in the summer, so I’d really like to learn the basics of Spanish before I get there. I’d be more than help anyone with their English speaking and writing skills, and I’d also be happy to teach the basics of the hindi language

  • Que habilidades tienes?

I have experience working as a designer due to my education and I can create illustrations or help with other digital stuff including but not limited to websites, logos, and so on (although, in the near future, I would like to move away from it professionally).

For a while, I interned as a photographer and helped make a short film for an ethical scarf company based out of the region of Kashmir. I also practiced making paintings for a while and that is a hobby I'd like to continue taking part in.

I'd be more than happy to write content for any organization with a cause beyond monetary profit!

My most enriching experience involves living on a farm/reforestation initiative with my mentor for over a year and that is a field I hope to transition towards, both professionally and as the larger dream in life. I love working with animals. My experience does involve working with two of the most beautiful cows, several chickens, ducks, and three lovely dogs.

My mentor did teach me a lifetime's worth of knowledge regarding forestry, planting, nursery work, and eco-construction. Although I may have not retained all the information, we can definitely learn, share and grow in terms of any work needed regarding nature. I'd love to help with any research work regarding animal/ecological conservation and that would definitely be something I really look forward to!

Lastly, what I may or may not lack in skill, I'd be more than happy to do with love, passion, and hard work for whatever role/project I take part in!

I volunteered in a tropical plant nursery, reforestation project for around two years in Auroville, India. 🌱

During this time, I also lived on a farm where I cared for cows, chicken, ducks and three beautiful dogs and I really appreciate the idea and work that goes behind growing your own food and trying to live off-grid. I helped in other farm tasks including some basic level of building.

On the other hand, during my travels I've also volunteered at hostels for several months doing tasks regarding social events and day to day activities including reception work, social outreach and house-keeping.

I graduated as a communication/graphic designer, and worked as a photography intern. I do hold skills regarding visual branding, social media and some video production. I'd be more than happy to assist with any media outreach tasks that may arise :)
