Hannah was very friendly, communicative, calm, and hardworking throughout her stay with us. She got along very well with our entire family and with all of our animals. Hannah was always polite, respectful, and brought a positive energy to our home. She was willing to help with any task that was needed and approached everything with a great attitude. We would recommend Hannah without any hesitation to anyone looking for a Workawayer who is helpful, reliable, well-mannered, and a pleasure to have around. We are very grateful for her help and wish her all the best in her future travels and projects. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I spent almost four weeks on the finca in February 2026. I had a bright, clean and comfortable room and even a private bathroom. I loved harvesting coffee and cleaning leaves, everything was well explained and I was able to work autonomously from the start. Another workawayer was there at the same time, which was fun as we were able to chat sometimes during work. Luckily, she was fluent in Spanish and translated for me during lunch, as did Jens, otherwise it would have been hard for me to exchange with Rosa. The food was delicious, we had lunch together and fixed breakfast and dinner on our own, which suited me fine since I was eager to explore the island after work. You should bring hiking boots since the trip down to Santa Cruz takes about 40 minutes and is very steep... but spectacular! Overall, my experience was very good, although the language barrier (me not speaking a lot of Spanish) prevented us from having deeper conversations.

So glad Alberte and Cecilia could come! My Danish "clowns" were much appreciated. Helping with the busy work of putting all the little plants into the ground - Alberte for 3 weeks and Cecilia for 2 weeks. Staying here until the "bitter end" - not really, of course, but by the time they left, ALL small plants had been planted in the ground. The very last thing was actually sowing some carrot seeds on toilet paper - very dubious method, but turns out it was not totally in vain! "Clowns", singers, dansers, knitters (wow!) and good workers. Thanks for coming. <3

We stayed at Sylvias place with her lovely dogs and the boss cat for a week. Sylvia is very welcoming and chatty. She made us feel like home and we had our own room in her old cosy building. She had some easy tasks for us, indoor wood working projects and repairs of holes in the concrete floor in the hen house. Repaired her axe and chop some fire wood etc. Its a lovely place if you like to be in out in the countryside. We miss all those yummy kiwis and the cheese cake she made for us.

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Woche bei Julia und Hauke. Sie sind super nett , hilfsbereit und die Tätigkeiten wurden gut besprochen so das man auch selbstständig arbeiten konnte. My partner and I stayed with Senia for two weeks and had a really great experience. We were very well accommodated in a beautiful cabin. The food was amazing. Senia cooked lunch for us every day, and we really enjoyed her delicious meals. The work was fair, and even during the very hot days, Senia made sure not to ask too much from us. She worked alongside the volunteers, which created a great atmosphere. The location is stunning, right by the ocean and surrounded by wild nature. Despite feeling peaceful and remote, Chacahua is only about 15–20 minutes away by colectivo, making it easy to visit the village. Overall, we had a very good stay and would definitely recommend this Workaway to anyone looking to reconnect with nature and enjoy a meaningful volunteering experience. Thank you, Senia!

So glad Marlies could come - she came at a time when she was really needed, and did not disappoint! Came when all the little plants needed to get in the ground, in their permanent place for the summer, and she was here during pretty well the entire process. She was always willing, and always did a good job. Also creative and artistic - painting on bark and stones, playing the flute (with a little private concert while watching the midnight sun!) and even the different ways she did her hair! You are welcome back any time, Marlies! <3

Annusi y su pareja han dejado un buen recuerdo en nuestra casa. Han realizado el trabajo encomendado bien y su compañía ha sido muy agradable. Compartir culturas es siempre muy gratificante.

Heidi war zwei Wochen bei mir und es war schön, entspannt und sehr informativ! Sie ist ein unglaublich fröhlicher und aufgeschlossener Mensch mit einer bezaubernden Art und immer bestens Gelaunt. Ich war sehr froh das sie mir bei der Gartenarbeit und bei Aufgaben im Haus so toll geholfen hat und hoffe sehr , dass wir uns in der Zukunft noch einmal sehen hier in meinem Haus. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit zusammen und sie hat mir bei der Arbeit mit den Bienen, beim Honig abfüllen sowie im Haus und Garten sehr geholfen. Pit war sehr angetan von ihr und hat viel Zeit mit ihr verbracht ob im Garten oder im Haus. Ihre Koch- und Backkünste haben mir tolle Leckereien präsentiert, von Brot backen, Ghee selber machen bis zu Kräutertinkturen und sehr viel Wissen darüber! Danke liebe Heidi!!! Wir haben gemeinsam gebacken, gekocht und uns rege ausgetauscht. Die gemeinsamen Gespräche waren sehr inspirierend und abwechslungsreich! Vielen Dank für die wunderbare Zeit und deinen Besuch!

Annamaria and Matteo were like to find other parents in this life! The entire family: Luna, Buddy and Milton, and also Arely made this experience truly unforgettable! Everybody here gonna give you the best of their beautiful energy! 🩵 Since the very first moment we met and spoke in a video call, I noticed Anna’s kindness. She offered to pick me up in a train station in Rome making much easier my arrival. As a host, she provided me everything and much more that is included in the description (3 meals (with a lot of desserts, Italian coffee and tea everyday 🙈), a bedroom with wardrobe, a table and a chair for working, and a shared bathroom). As a person, she becomes in a friend quickly, she has had many life experiences, from which I learned a lot! With Anna, Matt, Arely and Milton talked and laugh a lot, known each other in everyday talks, and shared many experiences of our lives! Also, we cooked together! It was the best part! We shared our cultures through the food. In Colombia we use to say that “La comida une y reúne gente” (in English could be something like: “food unites and brings people together”) and I felt exactly the same with this family. Anna is a master chef, and of course she knows everything about Italian and Roman cuisine! It was an honor to learn some recipes from and make pasta from scratch! it was awesome! Also, I was able to cook and teach them some of our very delicious and traditional Colombian food, which was a success!! 🤩 About the “job” I did I have to say that was really easy. Essentially was taking care of Luna (La principessa della casa 🐶💕) and Buddy (Il gatto senza un orecchio 😸❣️). Their food, medicines, and to share all my love with them, which was a truly pleasure because are the cutest!!! Also, you have to take off the garbage everyday, according to the rules and schedule hanging on the fridge (perhaps this was the most difficult task for me! Sometimes I forgot the type of garbage I should takeoff and made a mess!! Please be careful with this because Italians taken the disposal garbage and recycling very seriously!). Besides, I had the honor to work in a DIY project for Luna! I build her stairs made by cardboard boxes to get her mama’s bed easily and without effort! And, because of the Anna’s creativity, I started Il Ricettario dei Workawayers! A Recipe book where all the volunteers who are cooking lovers would immortalize special food from their countries! Amazing idea! Despite it was not one of my tasks, make some company to Matt, talk with him and help him in his memory activities, and takeoff “Le foglie gialle” from the garden’s trees becomes the way to spent my days there. In a very good way, It was one of the main learnings of this weeks here: just try to forget everything about the “real world” and open your mind and heart to feel, see and breath nature, somehow come back to a basic and tranquil life. Their home is a constant invitation to get relax, a reminder of the importance of nurturing your energy and keep grounding. The house is located in a wonderful area in Lago di Vico, Ronciglione, where you can go for taking walks, run, ride a bike or just look for a chair near to the lake and receive all its special energy! There are many small and medieval beautiful towns around the area, where you can go in a few minutes ride (with the car or bike), take a coffee or gelato and comeback. Even Rome is reachable, there are buses and trains that will leave you in the city center in around 1h and a half. Over all of those things, this experience materialized the real meaning of Workaway: to travel helping people, exchanging cultures and meeting wonderful and trustworthy people. Grazie infinite per questa meravigliosa experiencia! Sono sicuro che tornerò.

Dan is a lovely host, very friendly and made sure that I felt at home and comfortable at once. The place is located rurally between fields and forests and there are only a few kilometers to the lake Fryken, which is very deep and lovely. I went jogging there a few times a week and bathed in the lake. It's very easy to collaborate with Dan and he was always giving me good and clear instructions about my work tasks and we were also working together in the garden, which was great fun! Dan is easygoing as a person and also has got many interesting stories to tell from his life. The living conditions are good, a room and a shared kitschen and bathroom on the second flor in a smaller house on the property. I felt very comfortable here. I highly recommend volunteering at Dan's place!

Maggie was very communicative and organized from the beginning. She speaks english very well. She explained what she wanted very clearly. She is a great cook. She dropped me off and picked me up at the station; she even took me to see Assisi on my last day and explained everything very well. I am very grateful to her. I definitely recommend her.

Our two weeks with Yeldos and Gulnara were truly an unforgettable experience, and we are very grateful for the time we spent there. They are incredibly warm, open-minded people and we had so many great conversations that made our stay really special. We really enjoyed the work. Some tasks were definitely challenging, but always rewarding, and it felt great at the end of the day to see what we had accomplished. Being involved in the daily tasks around the farm gave us a really nice insight into everyday life there and made the whole experience feel very authentic. We also loved the amazing food and spending time together with the other Workawayers. What we appreciated most was the chance to experience Kazakhstan in such an authentic way. Through Yeldos and Gulnara, we were able to see the country from a completely different perspective, and for us that is exactly what cultural exchange is about. We had such a wonderful time, already miss it a lot, and are very thankful for this special experience. Woooow what an amazing time 😊

I spent one month with this friendly family and had a truly wonderful experience. From the very first day, they made me feel welcome, comfortable, and part of their home. They are kind, open-minded, and genuinely caring people, which made my stay very enjoyable. I really enjoyed getting to know them, exchanging experiences, and learning more about their lifestyle and culture. The atmosphere was always warm, relaxed, and respectful. The work was fair, varied, and well balanced between tasks in the house and in the garden and renovating a small house on the farm. I appreciated the trust they placed in me and enjoyed contributing to their home. I am very grateful for the time I spent with this family and for all the positive memories and conversations I take with me. I highly recommend this family to anyone looking for a friendly, welcoming, and enriching Workaway experience. Thank you again for everything – I hope our paths cross again in the future!

I am very happy to write this review for our friend Basdeo! Basdeo has volunteered quite a few times at the earth sanctuary. Each time he came he helped us with soooo many tasks we needed help with! He's a power house of information and knowledge on plants, helping us in our shade house to not only plant, but also to do repairs. Excellent cook!! We still remember last Christmas that you spent with us. Christmas was special because you came. You are apart of our family and community, much more than a volunteer to us. We deeply appreciate your creativity, innovation, ability to find ways to get a job done. We appreciated how you spent time with our daughter Jodi and she truly loves you. Basdeo helps with everything from gardening, cooking, repairs, planting, painting, even helping us to put up curtains and prepare a new home we have on the sanctuary. Nothing was too much for him. He's an excellent house sitter too; taking care of the sanctuary when we had to be away. When our daughter was stung by a scorpion he was with us at the hospital. I will always appreciate his quick response when she got stung, knowing which herb to apply from the garden that I truly believe help to save her until we got to the nearest hospital. We always look forward to his visits and hope he will come again in the future. I have absolutely no reservations recommending Basdeo. What an amazing human being. Thank you for everything. I am pleased to write a review for Karolina! She spent approximately 7 days at the sanctuary in Guyana, South America. Karolina helped us to landscape our courtyard and did such a wonderful job at it! We are still admiring her work. She's incredibly strong, laying paving stones in the courtyard for the walkway. She's also very committed to her tasks, takes pride in her work and is very innovative with working in the rain. She didn't allow the rains to stop her from doing what needed to be done. We also appreciate that while we live in the forest, away from much social activities in the town, she found away to travel into Georgetown to attend several events taking place there and found her way back to the sanctuary. We appreciated her and the time dhe spent with us. Her beautiful artwork is still on our wall and will be there for - forever!! Phenomenal artist she is!! Fue una bonita experiencia Si quieres practicar tu francés, Christian tiene muchos temas de interés con los que puedes platicar y compartir. Si buscas conectarte con la tierra y la vida autosustentable y comunitaria, ese es el lugar indicado, con el máximo aprovechamiento de recursos, en un lugar tranquilo y ligeramente alejado de la ciudad. También me enseñó un poco de cerámica, hice unas figuras todas chiquitas y hermosas!! Y sus conservas de alimentos son exquisitas, disfrutamos mucho de su cocina

Lena spent approximately a month with us in November. She came to us at a very stressful time in our household , and her gentleness and kind nature helped us tremendously. Lena can be a bit shy at first, but when she gets settled in, her confidence increases and her lovely sense of humour shines through. Lena can work independently and can also work with a team. She did some house chores, cooked, organised things and looked after our dog and drove our daughter round when needed. It was winter so there was less jobs to do outside which Lena would have preferred. She got along with everyone and enjoyed playing board games with another workawayer. Lena prefers time spent outdoors and with animals. Our dog loved her. She gifted us a beautiful painting of him when she left on her next adventure. Any host would be lucky to have Lena join them.

My time at Colitas con Cans was amazing! Emily was great to chat and joke with amongst work and Charito was a pleasure to spend time with and have great chats with- alongside her amazing cooking. All the dogs were greatly unique in their own ways and the work was always very fulfilling. I loved learning more about dog behaviour while being surrounded by amazing nature. In my spare time I enjoyed spending time with other volunteers and exploring the surrounding areas.
