Hi! My name is Hiroko(Maman)
I live in the beautiful island of Ojika in Nagasaki prefecture, together with my husband and lots of cats.
I run a Karaoke-Bar since 1994.
Finally my dreams came true in the spring of 2025 to open safe and happy place for stray cats !!
I'm looking for helpers to support me with daily tasks—but also to share your creativity, passion, and ideas!
I would love to welcome workawayers who can support me take care of 13 stray cats, play them together so they can live happy and comfy every day.
I love Ojika island so much.
Ojika is a small island with a population of around 2,000 people. It’s located about 3 hours by ferry from Sasebo, or 5 hours from Fukuoka. The island is known for its stunning beaches, peaceful nature, and warm-hearted community.
There are many other beautiful islands in the area—Ojika is one of the Goto Islands, each with its own charm and history.
Just 25 minutes away by ferry is Nozaki Island, an uninhabited island that was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018.
It holds the remnants of early Christian history in Japan and is home to many wild deer—an enchanting and mysterious destination for those interested in Japan’s religious past.
We’d love to welcome you and collaborate to make something wonderful together.🐾✨
(This opportunity is only available for solo Workawayers and stay about 1 month. Non-smokers are only accept)
This is a message from Nyan Nyan no Sato.
Before you come through Workaway, I’d like to confirm one important thing.
Please make sure to spend about 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, taking care of the cats. The cleaning is quick and easy, but what we really need is someone who will spend time with the cats, play with them, and give them love.
These cats are rescues, and many of them have grown up lonely, surviving outside. I wish I could always stay with them, but because of work and family, I cannot. That’s why we ask Workaway volunteers to help by giving them the love and attention they deserve.
Do you truly love cats and animals?
If you come only because “it’s an easy job,” “free meals and accommodation,” or “just for travel,” then it will make us very sad.
We are looking for volunteers who truly love cats and animals.
The main task is not only cleaning, but also spending time with the cats, playing with them, and giving them love and attention.
Our cats are rescues who have grown up in difficult situations, and they need warmth, kindness, and human interaction.
If you have a genuine love for animals and are willing to care for them with patience and affection, you will be a perfect fit here.
I truly believe you will take care of them with love and do your best for the cats. Thank you so much.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje
