Summer in the Navarre Mountains
We are looking for travelers to join us during the summer months! This is the time when our corner of Northern Navarre is at its most vibrant -lush, green, and full of life. Surrounded by ancient beech forests and mountains, our home is a peaceful retreat near the French border. If you enjoy hiking, you can explore the surrounding hills for days. While we are only 10 km from the village and an hour from San Sebastián (Donosti), Pamplona, and Biarritz, the house feels like a world of its own.Our home is a two-story, open-plan house that we’ve renovated ourselves. We are a "neorural" family: I am a sculptor (post-media), my partner is a designer, and we have a 5-year-old daughter. The house is fully autonomous, powered by solar energy and fresh mountain water. We welcome couples and individuals. We prefer non-smokers (smoking is only allowed outside). In this climate, summer means the grass grows incredibly fast! . We love to organize a paella or fideuà on the weekends and enjoy good conversations. We value people with creative interests who appreciate a very quiet, rural lifestyle. To reach us, you'll drive through a forest track. It’s accessible with a standard car, but it adds to the feeling of being truly tucked away in nature. This is our family home and we don't want help for our professional work.

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
Living with us is an immersion into a creative and sustainable lifestyle in one of the most culturally unique corners of Europe. As a sculptor and a designer, we love sharing our creative process. I can show you my workshop and share my experience with post-media art or carpentry (I’ve built most of our furniture and structures myself). If you are interested in DIY, off-grid systems, or woodworking, we have plenty of stories and practical "know-how" to share. Our life is deeply rooted in the local community. Our daughter is growing up speaking Euskara (Basque), one of the oldest languages in the world. While I'm still learning it (my wife is a mother speaker) , we can introduce you to the local traditions, the unique history of the borderlands, and the rural way of life in Northern Navarre. We believe the best connections happen around a table. You are welcome to join our family meals and our occasional weekend paellas or fideuàs. It’s a great time to talk about life, art, and travel. We can show you the "secret" spots of our forest—places where you can walk for hours and feel a deep connection with the environment, surrounded by ancient beech trees and free-roaming animals. We hope to learn from your own background and experiences while offering you a peaceful space to reflect, create, and experience the beauty of a slow, rural life.

We have a satellite connection (Hispasat). It is reliable for standard remote work, such as emails, browsing, and occasional video calls. However, it is not suitable for heavy data usage, like uploading/downloading very large files or spending the whole day on high-definition video conferences. We run entirely on solar energy. Charging your laptop and phone is never an issue, but we ask you to be mindful of electricity usage, especially on cloudy days. If your work requires absolute silence and no distractions, this is the place. The only sounds are the forest and the animals. We are happy to coordinate so you can balance your work hours with helping us around the house.

Espacio para aparcar autocaravanas
We have very limited space for extra vehicles. We already have three cars parked here, so it’s quite tight!Size matters. so we can only host small campervans (like a VW Transporter or similar). Large motorhomes or long wheel-base vans will definitely struggle with the forest track and the lack of turning space at the house.Remember, the house is reached via a 2km forest track. It is accessible for "normal" cars, but if your van is very low or extremely heavy, please let us know in advance. Since you'll be staying in our guest room anyway, your van would just be your transport. But if you prefer to sleep in your small van occasionally, that's fine—just know that space is "cozy"!

Podría aceptar mascotas
We live in the wild with free-roaming livestock (cows, horses, ponies) and we have a 5-year-old daughter, so we have to be selective about pets. Dogs well-behaved, socialized dogs are welcome! However, they must be comfortable around other animals and respectful of the local livestock. No "Exotic" Pets: Please, no snakes, iguanas, or similar exotic pets. We prefer to keep the house "reptile-free"!Important: Since we are surrounded by forests, your pet should be used to being in nature (and stay close so they don't get lost chasing a smell!)
