  NOTE: WE CANNOT HOST ANY LONGTERM STAYS, SO TIPICALLY STAYS WITH US WILL BE ABOUT 1-3 WEEKS!
  We use the apartments we rent online for our helpers to stay, which means you have a superb accommodation, but we usually cannot confirm more than 1 month in advance and stays are usually for short-term projects between 1-3 weeks...
  
  Hello to all Helpers,
  We are a spanish-german family of 4 living on the beautiful island of Tenerife, in a quiet part of the city of Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island. We just came back home from living our big dream to travel the world for one year with our sons Lucas (16) and Niko (9). Now we would love to welcome at our house some of the international spirit we experienced on our journey.. We are almost sure you will love the island because it has perfect climate all year round, beautiful landscapes that vary from snowy mountain tops to black lava beaches and invite you to surf, hike, mountain bike or swim... We are all surfers and spend most of our free time on the beach, you are welcome to join us and enjoy some surf and beach time..
  
  We will try to arrange at least one or two Skype conversations before accepting anyone, to make sure we match and have opportunity for both to answer all questions.

  At home we speak usually german when I'm alone with the kids and spanish when my husband is at home, but our big son goes to the british school, so there is also some english mixing in... You can definitely improve your language skills with us....We grow some fruit and veggies in our big garden (banana, mango, papaya, salad, tomatoes, herbs...) and love to cook international food. In our spare time we surf, hike or just enjoy the extensive social life on the canary islands where you are more than welcome to participate....
  But please beware that we are running several jobs at a time, so we are quiet busy most of the week and can't organize a proper cultural program for you.

  Ayuda

  We have a wide range of different activities where you could help us (we expect 3 hours of help, 5 days a week, we offer accommodation in your own independent apartment, we don't provide food but still sometimes invite helpers to eat together when it fits both) but we are also open for your suggestions, depending on your abilities. Here are some ideas:
  - we always apreciate people with some experience in the fields of painting, electricity etc. to do basic maintenance jobs in our house
  - help with daily cleaning and household chores
  - I would love to produce/edit a little video from all the material we brought from our one year trip
  - general gardening, especially if you are familiar with permaculture practice
  - We need babysitting once in a while and assistance with homework for our 10 year old
  - you could do the cooking some days a week, we love to try new international dishes...
  Just let us know what you think you could share with us, make us curious to get to know you!

  Alojamiento

  We have different apartments that we use for helpers when they are not booked for holiday guests. It means that you will stay in a really nice place that we also rent out, so it´s important for us that you take care of it and keep it clean and tidy for the next Helpers to come!
  Sometimes we can also use a big 3 bedroom apartment for up to 6 helpers, it depends on the bookings we receive.
  
  As you have a fully equipped apartment with your own kitchen, we expect you to cook your meals for yourself, although we sometimes join meals together when it fits the schedule but can not plan it regularly...thats why we ask only for 3 hours help a day.
  
  Our property is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with private parking, but you can explore the neighbourhood perfectly without a car. Just around the corner you will find Sisa´s kiosk, where you can buy newspapers and basic necessities as well as a minimarket. A few minutes walk and you will find several cafes and restaurants and the only park in the city with areas for children, sport and relaxation. You can reach the center of the city and the beaches in 15 minutes walking. Finally at 400 meters there is a private hospital. Bus and Taxi stop 5 minutes away. The public transport is pretty good and you can explore the whole island by bus...

  Tenerife is called the island of eternal springtime due to its mild climate around the year. You will probably spend most of your time outside and there is plenty to discover on the island in your free time:
  -The highest mountain of spain called Teide with almost 4000 meters offering a spectacular volcanic landscape.
  -The second biggest carnival in the world after Rio, well worth a visit.
  - The historic towns of La Laguna and La Orotava with lots of old buildings and churches.
  - An endless number of hiking trails around the island for all levels of fitness and experience.
  - Superb conditions for surfing, windsurfing and bodyboarding.
  - Wine lovers will enjoy a visit at the bodegas and do some wine tasting
  - Siam Park (rated worlds no1 water park by TripAdvisor ) and famous LORO PARQUE (also rated one of the best Zoos of the world)
  - Well we could go on and on, you won´t get bored here we promise. We will be happy to give you plenty of advice about all kinds of activities here on the island....
