Descripción
We are Meri 50 and Fredrik 42, living at country side and really enjoying it. We live 6km away from little town called Nykarleby/Uusikaarlepyy. It is located into swedish-talking region on Finnish west coast.
Our home is 300m from gulf of Baltic Sea, surrounded by fields and forest. We have here 2 horses, 1 shetland pony, 9 hen and 1 rooster, 4 big silver rabbits, 4 dogs (1 company dog, 2 hunting dogs, 1 australian terrier) and 1 snake. We warm the house with wood.
Meri is a Green Care coach and practical nurse, bachelor of social services and Instructor of socio-pedagogical equine activities. She works now for exchange student organization at the home office. Fredrik is a wilderness guide, but he is home also because of broken back. Fredriks 19 years old son is living with us. We are also support family for miners who has special needs.
We like outdoor life, camp fire, forest hikes, fishing, hunting and country life.
We need help with cleaning horse paddocks, chopping wood, gardening, painting stable building, renovating guest house and maybe sometimes helping with animals. We do not have real farm, even we do have two horses and few hen giving 5 eggs per day.
Dogs are spending time inside, and they are two packs who can't be "mixed". For now it looks like horses has to be taken into stable for the nights even on summer.
We do not usually cook vegetarian food. We have smoking-free household. If you use alcohol, we hope you can behave yourself ;) We have one guest room for work-a-way inside of our home, shared bathroom. Feel free to ask more!

City of Nykarleby is located to Gulf of Ostrobothia sea. Area is very flat, easy to bicycle and nature is always close. We used to have exchange students from different countries so we are quite used to introduce the area, living habits and organizing experiences.

The house is heated by wood. so there is always some chopping to do.

We learned a lot about animals by taking care of them. The majority of the time was to clean the horses stable, or the field, so we shovelled a lot of poo (up to 12 wheelbarrow once!). But they have a lot of other work… read more

She had to go to work during the day and we didn't have a lot of time to talk, but whenever she came home and had free time, she was patient and talked to me!
She also taught me how to make a cake... it was really easy! If I get the chance to see Meri again I hope I can cook for her again!
