We are a Traditional Archery Club located on beautiful Salt Spring island. It is a non profit society with our focus on providing educational activities for the local youth and homeschools. I am currently injured and need more help here with the seasonal tasks and archery course landscape development.

You will have your own private self contained cabin with deck.

Workawayers 25yrs+ up preferable but not exclusive. You'll need some sort of work boots and perhaps even gum boots depending on the weather. Let's communicate about any concerns via messages.

There is so much other fun to be had on this island and most of it is pretty accessible. 10 minute drive to Ganges town. It would be helpful if you have your own transportation, even a bike. If not we'll just figure it out. There are Art galleries, Hiking, swimming, farmers markets and thousands of community events and celebrations throughout the year. The farm is located within easy walking distance to ferry terminal for Vancouver connections. I would be happy to collect you from any of the 3 ferry terminals on Salt Spring Island. Check google maps.

We are looking for apprentices/helpers with a serious and genuine interest in creating/improving the beautiful landscape and environment for this Archery Club. You must be teachable, be able to follow directions, ask questions as needed, and to participate cooperatively with others. If you are reliable, honest, responsible, physically fit, enjoy outdoor activities in most weather conditions then we would be happy to host you.

There will be lots of time to enjoy the fruits of your labour and learn the art of Archery. It is one of the most beautiful field archery courses in Canada and shooting arrows is always a joy.

Salt Spring island has quite the cultural history and even today boasts a wonderful cultural diversity. It is a very artistic community of around 11,000 people who live on the island full time. The island host many thousands of tourists primarily in the summer months. Visit the Farmers market or the many other cultural events, live music, dancing and festivals on the island. There are lots of amazing and talented people here. What are your interests? and I can point you in the right direction during your stay.

On location at the Farm you will learn about the natural rhythms of the gulf Islands, sustainable water practices, invasive plant species, lots of gardening techniques and carpentry skills. You could also learn to be a Zen Master of archery on your time off. Or just relax on the deck and read a book.

There is one older bicycle here to borrow and another can be arranged if needed.

Outdoor yard work of all sorts depending on the season. Bring outdoor work clothing for the season.
We will be working primarily on the archery course, cutting trails, fixing targets, weeding, pruning etc. Small construction projects for signage and backstops. There is always something needs to be fixed or modified. I have tools and skills to share with enthusiastic learners.
Creative landscaping projects are always happening on the Archery Course.
Possible Cleaning, fixing and minor duties inside.
Accounting help if you have skills.

There is a cute and private "Casita" for you with kitchenette, bathroom with shower, desk/table, wifi, deck with some patio furniture and BBQ. Sleeps 2.

For your 7 days of lodging, I would expect 5 days of help, 5 hours a day most lunches and dinners are provided for (hopefully with some of your help).

Loads of gorgeous hiking and cycling, kayaking adventures to be had on island. All sorts of Art galleries, Vineyards, breweries, exhibits, festivals and events going on. check the local websites for calendars.

This beautiful location is very close to Long harbour Ferry terminal (walking) and 10mins drive to Ganges harbour where the famous weekend farmers market takes place and other diverse amenities are found.

It is very easy to get to Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo and Tofino from Salt Spring Island via one of these three ferry terminals. I have good local knowledge and am very happy to help build the best experience according to your passions and interests.

A dog/cat/pet is welcome. There are rabbits, deer and big birds of prey that come around, so please consider. Definitely notify me in advance of any pets you wish to bring.
