Hello friends! We are in the process of opening a campsite in the rainforest jungle of the Osa Peninsula. The location features a canopy zipline tour and will eventually host guests in tents (suspended among the trees like hammocks!) We want to offer the seclusion and tranquility of nature combined with camraderie and cultural exchanges around the campfire! Our target market includes nature lovers and adventure seekers who want to immerse themselves in a jungle environment (but still enjoy the luxuries of toilets, showers, and cooking elements!)

We offer an opportunity not only to immerse yourself in a rural Costa Rican village, but also to interact with tourists from all over the world. Our remote location and proximity to the famous Corcovado National Park will expose you to an incredible array of wildlife, flora and fauna. Practice your language skills, learn about wildlife, develop confidence in marketing and reservations, experience new outdoor activities, make connections, explore new talents.....the list goes on. Whether you come for the language, the nature, the relationships, or the adventure, we've got you covered!

We are still in the beginning stages of this project. The site is quite secluded and we have only recently installed running water and electricity. We have a building constructed for bathhouses and an office/communal area, but it still needs some detail work (fixtures, furniture, etc). For the time being, we will need help in preparing the site to open to guests (general landscaping, simple construction, cleaning, organization). Examples of tasks on-site might include clearing pathways, shoveling and hauling sand to create natural steps, establishing communal spaces such as campfire rings or a shared kitchen, and locating the best campsites based on knowledge of tree tents. Upon opening, we need someone to help with check-in and check-out processes, customer service, reservations, cleaning and general maintenance. As we are still in the beginning stages of this project, flexibility is appreciated, creativity is welcomed, and new ideas are encouraged!

*️Please note that we ask for a minimum stay of 1 month (2 or more is preferred) so that our volunteers can thoroughly get to know the area and answer questions for guests!

All applicants should be flexible and adaptable individuals. Spanish skills are not required, but a basic knowledge is very helpful. Regardless, volunteers should be willing to engage with members of the local community and arrive ready to learn! We will provide guidance and resources for tasks and responsibilities, but applicants should also take initiative and be able to work alone at times. The goal is not that you spend time assisting with our project, but that you make a personal investment into the success of the venture! Contact us if interested in a longer-term commitment to become part of the team :)

Current accommodations include shared bedroom and bathroom with coworker/fellow volunteer. We have a spacious room with a double and a single mattress and private balcony. Along with lodging, volunteers receive a grocery allowance. This allowance will cover the cost of most food items with the exception of alcohol, imported or specialty items, seafood, etc. Volunteer is expected to prepare his/her own meals, wash dishes, and maintain a clean kitchen for fellow employees. Bedroom is simple and rustic. We don't have a washer and dryer on site but volunteers can bring clothing to a local hotel under the same ownership to do their own laundry there at no cost. While food is provided at no cost, volunteers may be responsible for shopping/picking it up in town, able a 25 minute walk from the project site.

We are in a remote and rural area, so an adventurous spirit and appreciation for nature are a must! Paved roads don't exist here, power outages are not uncommon, and sweating is a constant state of affairs! The local culture is laidback and welcoming to foreigners. A huge variety of outdoor adventures are available when not working, including nature walks in the national park, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, beach bumming, horseback riding, fishing, and much more! Volunteers are encouraged to explore the area and experience all that it has to offer.
