I volunteered with Ben for a little over a week. It was great learning how to create stained glass pieces! Unfortunately, I had to leave a bit early due to circumstances in the house. If you're also a young woman curious about working here, feel free to reach out!

I had such a great experience here. I loved getting to know everyone and it was a joy to paint the house and work on stained glass projects. Ben and Maddy were great at showing me the ropes and making me feel welcome in the house. They have really organized systems which I appreciated. I also enjoyed going to events and having a fire outside with

Our time with this exceptional human was an absolute delight. She brought an incredible blend of hard work, positivity, and generosity to our community on two occasions now and we'd welcome her back anytime!

But it wasn't just her work that made her stand out; it was her infectious positivity and humor. Her laughter and cheerful demeanor made even the toughest days enjoyable. Her witty jokes and anecdotes kept our spirits high, creating an uplifting atmosphere. If pedestals weren't so dangerous we'd certainly put her on one!
In addition to her outstanding work trade, she shared her passion for glassworking, teaching us the craft and leaving behind some stunning glassware as a generous gift.
Working with her was a privilege, and we're grateful for the memories she created with us. Thank you for being such a blessing to us all. We miss you dearly!Comentarios

This was my second workaway and introduction to Asheville, NC, and it did not disappoint. I felt incredibly welcome in this house from the moment I stepped foot inside until long after I left. Ben is a workhorse of an individual spinning so many plates at once, yet maintains this warm, friendly, and relaxed demeanor. The people that live here are
… read more wonderful and so different, yet somehow beautifully cohesive. I really enjoyed learning how to cut glass and make little signs for kitchen organization. This truly is a communal experience where meals are shared, work is a party, and music is played fireside. Stoked to have been able to be a part of it for even a short while 🫶🏼 Would recommend to someone who is looking for community, enjoys seeing and helping ideas come to life, and is comfortable/thrives in a shared a living space.

I absolutely loved staying with Ben. I felt so taken care of and at home, and respected. Everyone was super welcomign, kind and really interesting. The work we did, stonebuilding, was a really cool skill and being a part of tangibly bringing to life a really cool permacutlure-type vision was really awesome! I can't wait to go back an visit and see

I stayed for a little over a week and had a wonderful time. I got to help with a variety of jobs, most not taking much explaination/teaching. I planted some starters, put spackling on dry wall, and help construct the pond with mud, dirt and wheat paste. Ben was a great host who is very fun and has had great experiences over the years. Everyone in

Morgane-Selena was delightful guest to share space and work with! She showed up every day with a positive attitude and willingness to work on whatever odd jobs I had and worked longer hours than what was expected. She mostly filtered clay from beneath our soil to use as a grout between stones on our amphitheater (to prevent erosion) which she

I had such a great time there ! I don’t know where to start. Ben is a very interesting and caring human being, he always made sure I felt comfortable and happy. He has lots of incredible stories to tell and he’s quite funny (and very humble…) ! ;)
At the end of my trip he also did drive me to my next stop so I could save money, (thanks again!)
… read more and we did swim in the ocean which was incredibly cool!
The work was easy and it was nice to be able to help not just one person but the whole community. We mostly played with the clay, did some stone work and planting. There’s always something to do in this lively and friendly house !
It honestly felt like home.
Everyone there was always willing to help, to chat and to laugh. We did watch movies together, played Chinese checkers (a lot(and became quite competitive)) and also went outside for dinner.
I learned a lot and I hope I’ll see the people I met there again.
Also Asheville is a nice city with lots of things to do and the scenery around it is very beautiful. The house is well located, I was able to walk downtown in twenty minutes.
Thanks again to Ben, Acacia, Jules, Ray, Ż and my baby dog for everything!
(God I hope I did not misspell the names…)
Wish you all the best!

Ben was a delightful host, inviting us into his world and community with open arms. His spirit is so positively contagious (as is his laugh) and we can guarantee that anyone lucky enough to stay with him will have similar things to say as well:)
Every night we would eat together and partake in household activities which included movies, games,

Asheville is a super groovy city and between Ben and Agnes there were always recommendations of things to do. We enjoyed walking into town, going to breweries, art galleries, seeing live music, and exploring waterfalls nearby.
We highly recommend Ben's Workaway experience and would certainly go back to visit!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Well ben was an awesome host as well as being a great human...Always able to laugh...I have always said that each person is born with a certain type of buzz going on inside as an expression of soul...Ben was born with a happy buzz going on......Now we went and got him addicted to dry earth and stone work and he some times can't stop.......Every
… read more human in the house was very generous and friendly, and each person was ready to step up and help me and other people out in the zone there....Zone meaning the folks blending into the larger community and back again...I wished I could have taken the whole neighbor hood with me....Including the cool project I got to invent and create witch is an amphitheater in his heavily sloped back yard out of river stone , earth and clay; while picking little figs off of fig trees...Because they were there......There is a lot of laughter there so don't be shy, check this place out and give it a try......This Workawayer is currently offline

Don’t even know where to begin! This was by far the best work away experience anyone could ask for. Ben was an excellent host always going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and acclimated here. The work was fulfilling, it felt great to be apart of projects that not only benefited the individuals and surrounding community but the

Ben is incredibly wise and was able to teach us many skills along the way. As far as the work goes everything was well laid out and communication was clear. Sometimes we would be so invested in the task at hand that the day would escape us.
In terms of proximity this is the perfect place to be to experience the areas true richness. As far as outdoor ventures; there’s camping, hiking, tubing, biking, climbing the list goes on and on. We had a blast trying these activities and could write a whole chapter on the waterfalls alone… The downtown and river arts scene is minutes away from the house tons of live music, funky bars and restaurants with some of the best food we’ve tried! You really get an inside scoop on all the local gems which is a nice bonus as well. The homestead was tranquil and peaceful, a great oasis to come back to and recharge.
Being in a space here provides truly enriched our quality of life. We learned how to be more sustainable individuals in our day to day living and truly cherish the human connections we made along the way. Asheville is a wonderful community to be apart of, and we truly believe that this was a step in the right direction to being conscientious individuals that contribute to the overall growth of that. Thank you to everyone who shared there lives with us as we were passing through and a Big thanks to Ben for giving us the opportunity to experience it all and more (:Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
