Calling All Artists & Creatives! Jungle Meets Canvas by the River 🌿🖌️
We’ve just landed ourselves a dreamy patch of riverside jungle paradise — and now we’re bringing it to life! Our vision? A magical artist-friendly escape with cozy wooden cabins, a jungle hostel, riverside bar, yoga decks, ice baths, Ayurvedic vibes, and so much more.
We’re located just inland (4.5 km) from both Weligama Bay and Mirissa Beach — tucked away in a peaceful riverside haven filled with towering trees, tropical sounds, and endless creative potential.
✨ Right now, we’re on the lookout for talented artists to help us paint the dream into reality. Think murals, signs, funky decor, and anything that turns wood and walls into pure jungle magic.
If you’ve got a paintbrush in one hand and wanderlust in the other — we want to hear from you. Come help us co-create a place full of soul, color, and the best kind of vibes.
Let’s make something beautiful together. 🌈🌴

At Secret Pearl, cultural exchange is at the heart of everything we do. Volunteers don’t just help us build a jungle escape — they become part of a growing creative community rooted in connection, collaboration, and learning.
🌍 For international travelers, this is a chance to truly live the Sri Lankan way — not as a tourist, but as part of a family. You'll stay in a traditional jungle home, enjoy daily home-cooked Sri Lankan vegetarian meals, and work side by side with locals and other travelers. You’ll learn about native plants, local building materials like cinnamon wood and palm, and the rhythms of rural life — from monsoon rains to jungle sounds you’ve never heard before.
🎨 Artists and creatives will also discover the rich visual language of Sri Lanka, its colors, textures, and spiritual influences — all while leaving your own mark on our evolving jungle space through murals, sculptures, carvings, and more.
🌱 For local Sri Lankans, this is a beautiful opportunity to meet people from around the world, share your traditions, language, and knowledge, and gain new perspectives. Whether you're a local artist, builder, animal lover, or nature enthusiast, we welcome your ideas and energy. This is a space to collaborate, exchange skills, and grow a unique community that honors both local roots and global creativity.
🤝 What you'll walk away with isn’t just a new skill — it’s a deeper understanding of different ways of life, lifelong connections, and the joy of building something meaningful in a place where the jungle meets the soul.
We believe that real magic happens when cultures come together with open hearts and curious minds — and we invite both foreign travelers and locals to come co-create this wild adventure with us.Ayuda
🖌️ ARTISTS WANTED
Got a brush, a chisel, or just a crazy idea? We’re calling all muralists, macramé makers, sculptors, wood carvers, upcyclers, and dreamers. Whether you're into vibrant wall art, building rope bridges, decorating with natural materials, or designing weird & wonderful jungle creations — we want YOU.
📩 Use the word “ART” in your message if this is your jam — we’re always on the lookout for artistic energy.
🐶 ANIMAL LOVERS TOO!
We've somehow adopted 7 dogs and 3 cats (yes, jungle life happens fast!). If you're good with animals and want to help love and care for our mischievous pack, you'd be a huge help!
🌴 OTHER HELPERS WELCOME
Also looking for hands-on creatives for gardening, carpentry, building quirky structures with cinnamon wood, palm, and upcycled materials. If you're versatile and love creating from scratch, you'll feel right at home.
🧘♀️ Perks?
Chill, green surroundings in a quiet riverside jungle
Just 4km from Weligama’s surf spots, 700m from Fisherman's Reef, and 5km from Mirissa town
Max 25 hours/week — with plenty of time to surf, explore, or just hammock hard
We prefer stays of 2+ weeks so we can really build something meaningful together

Welcome to the Wild Life – Secret Pearl Jungle Stay 🐒✨
So, you want to escape the ordinary? Trade your luxury linens for the calls of monkeys and mornings with banana trees? You’re in the right place.
Our volunteers live in a simple but soulful Sri Lankan family house, nestled deep in the jungle — just next to our budding riverside hostel. This isn’t a surf camp resort — it’s the real deal. No frills, no fluff, just nature, creativity, and community.
🛏️ You’ll stay in shared 2–4 bed rooms, with access to your own kitchen and plenty of space to unwind. The house is surrounded by lush jungle, cinnamon trees, cheeky monkeys, and the soundtrack of wild nature. It’s rustic, it’s real, and it’s got heart.
🍛 Lunch? On us. Every day, we gather for a home-cooked, local vegetarian Sri Lankan meal — a daily ritual to pause, eat well, and reconnect with the land around us.
💚 For us, offering this space isn’t just about getting help — it’s about sharing a place we’re in love with. A place we hope you fall in love with too. A place where we grow, create, and build a little jungle tribe — together.
☀️ But be warned:
There will be torrential rain.
There will be sticky sun.
There will be mosquitoes, mysterious bugs, and sometimes, total peace.
There will be wild Saturday nights, and soft jungle mornings filled with birdsong and the distant hoots of monkeys.
🌺 We welcome creative, self-starting souls who thrive in nature and community — people who see adventure in the unexpected and beauty in the imperfect.
Welcome to Secret Pearl. Welcome to the jungle.Algo más...
Where are we? Off the beaten path — but close to the action! 🌊
We’re tucked away in a peaceful riverside jungle, but just a short 10-minute bus ride gets you to the surfy vibes of Weligama or the tourist-favorite Mirissa. Catch a wave, dive into crystal waters, or go whale watching when the season hits — it’s all within easy reach!
🚌 Buses do run, but they're on island time — so patience (or a scooter) can be your best travel buddy. That said, the entire south coast is yours to explore by local transport: secret beaches, buzzing markets, laid-back cafés, and fresh local food are just a ride away.
🌴 Whether you’re after jungle peace or coastal adventure, you get the best of both worlds here — wild nature and beach-town fun, all wrapped up in one beautiful, off-grid experience.Un poco más de información
