  Diani is a beach resort in Kenya with a thriving kitesurfing scene, diving, snorkelling and a host of other watersports along it's 17km stretch of white sandy beaches.
  
  We run, the first permanent co-living in Kenya, based in Diani and it accommodates digital nomads from around the world. We have 7 rooms as part of the coliving, along with a small pool and vegetable garden. The veggies are grown for our pizza restaurant, which is one of the best in Kenya rated top 10 in Diani and top 10% on the coast.
  
  We have a very friendly team of 10 people based at the coliving who manage the day-to-day running. From Workaway we are mainly looking for an outgoing and sociable person or couple to organise community events such as weekend trips along the coast and kitesurfing days. We'd also like them to organise a regular social event each week, like a board game afternoon, a walk along the beach or a bonfire and marshmallows evening; to bring our little community of digital nomads together.
  
  If you have unique skills you can bring to the table such as yoga or fitness or something creative guests might enjoy getting involved in we're always open to ideas!
  
  We would especially love to hear from people who enjoy posting on social media and who would be happy to post about the community events they organise on our social channels. No need to be an expert, this is a big bonus for us as we rarely find the time to do this and would love to share our community more with the world.
  
  We also run a local school outreach programme. Our outreach co-ordinators organise school visits for our guests to give careers talks and help improve IT access for schools. This programme is important to us and you can also get involved if you're interested in helping or doing work in the local community while in Kenya.
  
  There could be the opportunity to take on more responsibilities if someone was interested in staying for a longer period of time.
  
  The town also has a vibrant bar and restaurant scene with everything from Swahili dishes to fresh sushi. Just down the road you'll find the Columbus Monkey Conservancy and we have great contacts with travel agents if you were looking to bolt on a trip to the Masai Mara for a safari as part of your trip.
  
  We provide accommodation with WiFi in a private room adjacent to the coliving. It's located within a secure compound. We would also offer of course access to the coliving, coworking, plunge pool and small air-conditioned gym. Depending on if it's a couple or individual we'd ensure the room is set up accordingly.
  
  You'll be able to connect with locals in Kenya and get to understand how to work in a new culture as well as meet a vibrant group of digital nomads working and travelling around the world.

  We have a team on site of 10 people including managers, chefs and security. Our amazing in-house chefs, office teams and security team from all around Kenya. With them you can get as immersed into the local culture as you like.
  
  If you work on the schools outreach programme you will also be able to get a unique insider perspective on the Kenyan education system and the challenges that it faces in modernisation.

  We are on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to help with fun activities and energy at our amazing coliving.
  
  The main role is as a 'Community Champion' to hang out with guests, organise trips and surface any concerns they might have that they haven't raised anywhere else as a friendly face working with our team.
  
  You can also get involved in our schools outreach programme where we are trying to improve the awareness of the value of IT skills and access in the local area.
  
  An interesting statistic is that only 12% of people in the county regularly use the internet. We are working to try and change teachers, parents and students understanding of how technology can be part of their careers.
  
  We have a Duty Manager Role on staff that rotates around the senior members of the team depending on who is on site. The Workaway member will be working directly with the director who is also based in Kenya at our place.
  
  Key areas of support:
  - Organise fun and regular community events in the local area
  - Take some lovely photos/short clips of the town, guests, trips etc to post on our social channels
  - Working with our team to set-up the trips for coliving members on weekends
  
  We might add if you have any unique skills (yoga, sports etc) or ideas we welcome those as well!
  
  - Helping our local team with the outreach program we're trying to set-up where we want to get our nomads into local schools giving careers talks. We also want to launch an open source book printing initiative but first the school relationships. This needs some co-ordination and support for one of our team members;

  Our team are fluent English and Swahili speakers. We also have german, french and some other languages spoken amongst some of the staff. If you want to learn Swahili it's an easy language to learn and you will be able to speak to around 500 million people you couldn't communicate with before :-)

  We offer your own private room/studio which is in a secure compound adjacent to the coliving. We have a restaurant on site where you can choose which meals from our mealbox/in-house ready meals you would like. This includes vegetarian options.

  We have pushbikes on site as well as a small motoscooter (think southern europe old people) which you can use during the day. If you need some coaching because you're rusty/new to bikes we can help with that as long as you have a normal driving license.
  
  We also have an air-conditioned gym which you can use and a small pool. We live in the same compound as the Workaway flat and are always around usually in the team office or building exciting things like our next project which is a barrel raft.
