Hi!
We are a couple of internationals that have lived in various countries around the world, during the last 25 years. When it came to planning our next step in life, we settled on living in the beautiful Dordogne.
We recently acquired a lovely old farmhouse in the Perigord vert with a 1 1/2 acres plot surrounding it. It is located in, what we consider, the foody region of France.
We are in the process of sorting out the neglected garden and some building work.
We live here on and off with our dog and various people that help us. We are interested in sharing gardening and renovating skills. We are an engineer and a horticulturalist that are interested in sustainability and organic gardening.
This place has a tranquil and beautiful atmosphere with sweeping views and little light pollution, which we love to share with others.
At the moment there is a 12m pool, a diminished orchard, a lavender terrace, a row of neglected vines, some lovely old lime trees and orchid meadows... We would like to develop what is here and create a new organic veg plot, a greenhouse out of a large lean-to, a berry cage and extend the lavender terrace into a prairie -style garden... We love hosting people and learn from you as you hopefully can learn something from us! We are in the process of learning French, so if you speak French that is a bonus, but not required...
There are gorgeous villages and lovely towns in the vicinity, with access to bars, restaurants, river swimming, kayaking, walking etc.
Our location is fairly remote as many places in the Perigord are, but our nearest station is 15 minutes by car...

We like to socialize at a meal or while having a beer at sundown, getting to know you better. We are native English and German speakers and love to exchange languages, if you wish. Depending on the time of year, there are a lot of local events, like music jams, and festivals going on. The markets are stunning around here, being in the foodie region of France (vegetarianism is alright now-a-days, veganism might still be tricky) . We love meeting new people and hear about different lives and cultures...
Ayuda
I require help with gardening, like mowing, strimming, trimming, weeding, planting etc. There is also building and decorating work, depending on your skill set... You will get food and accomodation for 4-5hrs a day / 5days a week. Don't worry if you have no experience with tasks, we will show you what to do and don't expect anything we are not doing ourselves. You could also help by cooking meals for everyone....
