I spent a month and a half with Izzy and Charlotte in Denmark, helping out with their house renovation, and it was such a blast! I loved the friendly vibe, the game nights, the meals, and all the cool people I met. Learning to play backgammon with Effe and Nico was super fun!

… read more always someone ready to drop me off at the train station or bus stop. Izzy even let me stay a bit longer and invited friends over when we had a housing issue, which was really generous of him—I know he would have been just as welcoming even without that.
Even though I’m usually a bit shy, I felt comfortable really quickly. We worked hard, but the days flew by. I can’t believe how fast my time there went! Living in a house that was being renovated with people from all around the world was such a unique experience that I’ll always remember.
I really hope we get to meet again. Thanks for everything!

We were lucky enough to spend two months, in June and July 2024, with Izzy and Charlotte, and we couldn't be more grateful for the experience. From the moment we arrived, Izzy and the other Workawayers welcomed us with great warmth and kindness. … read more party with everyone, which enabled us to immerse ourselves quickly in the environment and create strong bonds.
In terms of tasks, we had the opportunity to work in the garden, build a wooden terrace, erect a 9 m² wooden hut, demolish the first floor and insulate the roof. All these activities allowed us to develop new skills that will be useful in the future, while at the same time contributing to a project that was close to our hearts.
What we enjoyed most during our stay was the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which made each day particularly enjoyable. Sharing meals was always a highlight, although the most memorable moments were definitely the evenings spent playing Switch or watching a football match together after dinner.
Cultural immersion was at the heart of our experience. Living with people from different backgrounds allowed us to discover new perspectives, share traditions and learn about local practices that enriched our daily lives. Meals together were special times when discussions went well beyond the daily chores, allowing for a real intercultural exchange.
In short, our stay with Izzy was much more than just a work experience, it was a real human adventure. We highly recommend this opportunity to all Workawayers looking for a cultural immersion in a warm and caring environment.
A huge thank you to Izzy, aka Shaq, and to Charlotte. We'll definitely be back at the earliest opportunity!

We had a great time hosting Martin, Kim and Tofu. They stayed with us in their caravan just over a week, but we would have loved to host them longer. Martin helped with renovation tasks such as insulating the roof and cleaning out our storage while Kimberly would cook us dinner and helped with the kids at times. Their dog was very well mannered

I stayed at Izzy’s place for about two weeks with him and some other workawayers.
It was a beautiful place to stay! He accepted me to stay even though it was one day before because I had a problem... and he prepared a tent and some stuff to sleep in and a towel for me, so I could stay very safe and cozy!

He also picked me up at the closest station on my first day and dropped me off at the closest bus stop on my last day! I appreciate him for helping me a lot!

Marco and Giacomo are very hard working, helpful and were just a pleasure to host. During the day they would help with the tasks around the house, they were always making sure to finish what they started and do so diligently. we were izzy's guests for a month, we stayed most of the time in the house in mon except on weekends when we went to Copenhagen where we met charlotte and the kids.

when we sent our request to izzy he replied immediately and the next day we met and got organised, showing great willingness and interest.
as we were helping on the house there were four of us, ourselves, izzy and his friend, there was a great relationship with him too.
before this workaway we didn't have much experience with this kind of work, but they helped us and taught us a lot of skills which we won't forget, but at the same time we had enough freedom to learn and understand for ourselves.
the tasks were demanding, but because we were among friends it was not heavy and the time passed very quickly.
during the days off we saw the beauty of copenhagen, but above all the nature of the island of mon, cliffs, forests and beaches.
if you are a nature lover it is the perfect place. for example one day it snowed and all of us went for a walk in the snowy forest.
this adventure enriched us and allowed us to meet fantastic people, whom we will not forget.
we recommend anyone who wants to feel welcome and at home to spend time with izzy and charlotte's family.
This was our first workaway and it couldn't get any better.
