Hi, we're an older couple, Tony and Maree, with a mid-size rather rustic property with great views north over Whangarei town basin and behind to the Whangarei Heads. We're two minutes from the middle of town and an easy walk. We're fixing up an old place that has fruit trees and garden, that slopes down to neighbouring paddocks and mangroves. We love organic gardening - we eat a wholefood plant-based vegan diet - and would appreciate help working beside us on clearing, weeding, food-growing, composting, deck and paths building etc. We're pretty relaxed and easy-going, love good conversation, and both work from home as online counsellors. We love the beaches, have been swimming all year-round, getting out for bush-walks, and love feeding the ducks and pigeons rolled oats and mushy peas down at Mair park! Happy to have your company, best times are Friday through Monday.

We've been in Whangarei just over two years now and have travelled around locally and throughout Northland. We can suggest some good places in nature to visit. Maree is an artist and visionary writer, Tony is working on similar projects, and we're both keen on personal development, therapies, self-enquiry, a smattering of astrology and tarot, "life is a series of stories and journeys", and such like, all paths and philosophies. With visitors, we could head off for a picnic at a beach, maybe a trip to NgaWha hot springs up near Kaikohe, make salads, talk art, play Upwords or Dixit, watch a movie. Depends what's going on and how we're placed - we're otherwise fairly quiet working on creative projects, but appreciate company at the right times.

We're often in the garden or doing some DIY - I want to build a deck over this summer out the back. There's always ginger roots, arum lilies and other things growing wild that need taking out. Some paths to make, compost and worm farm to keep happy, weeding and harvesting. We'll think of something!

    Alojamiento

We have a double bed in a guest room, off-street parking if you have a van or vehicle to park, and a nice spot in the back garden for a small tent if you prefer being close to the earth. The house is fairly small and funky and in the process of renovation, but we have a great hot shower, and a big deck out front with table and chairs and views over the city.

We are happy to feed our guests. We have our own organic garden, and buy organic food from the weekly Grower's market on a Saturday here in Whangarei. We eat a wholefood plant-based diet. No meat, eggs or dairy is stored or consumed in our house.

Off-street parking for campervan. Narrow sloping driveway precludes anything larger like a motorhome. Views!
