We are a busy family of 5, most recently adopting our younger daughter Anne who is 2 from Vietnam last month. We also have two sweet and mischievous boys, Theodore who is 6 (Kindergarten) and Kien who is 5 (Pre school). We love to travel and with Nick's work we take various vacations throughout the year. We love to bring out kids along for these adventures and are passionate about them learning about other cultures and new life experiences. We plan to spend 1 month in Guatemala every year and would love to all be fluent in Spanish! We are Christian and attend church every Sunday along with some volunteering (your welcome to join but do not have to!). We really enjoy hosting people whether it be a smaller group for dinner, or a larger get together. We tend to be the house that everyone gathers at! We like having bonfires, swimming in the pool and quading around the yard with the kids. We live on 5 acres and the children have a lot of free space to roam (and yes, get into all sorts of hilarious activities with their freedom). They often wander over to their grandparents who live just down the road. It's so fun to have the ability for them to explore! We also have 10 chickens and a small coop we take care of. We eat fairly healthy but love a good treat or a glass of wine sitting out on the patio :).

Chilliwack is a little gem of a place! We live out on farmland where it is peaceful and quiet. We're located 1hr outside of Vancouver and a lot of people from the city venture out here to explore the nature, lakes and hikes ( there's endless hikes!). In the summer it's a busy little city (approx. 100,000 people year round) and a go to place for a lot of camping and weekend get-aways. There are lots of restaurants and we have all of the typical needs that a general city has eg. breweries, rock climbing, fitness studios, shops etc. The person assisting our family will be welcome to join some of our family adventures such as going out on the boat, hiking, and other events - I might hit your guide mode! If you are an outdoor person then Chilliwack is a dream come true! We are 1 hr away from local ski hills (3hrs from whistler), a few hours away from Seattle and our local wine country in then Okanogan. There’s a lot of beautiful cities and nature to explore within day trip distance away. I might be biased but the Fraser valley is the best !

We are looking for female applicants:
We are looking for help navigating the daily life activities involved with a large home, property and kids (and a little sanity to mom).
Kaitlyn is a registered nurse who works casually in chemotherapy, and a busy mom who wants to be more active in her children’s life and a lot less active in cleaning our spacious home, and cooking for our family. Nick runs a company and is away at times and works longer than normal hours. Help around the house would be such a blessing so she can be a more present mother.
We are looking for someone to help us:
(We do not expect this all in a week unless you have superpowers!)
- Clean our home (7 beds, 6 bathrooms), our air bnb in the basement, cook meals, pack lunches, and grocery shop
- Maintain our inground pool outside, hot tub, and our swim spa pool in the basement along with our patio and outdoor kitchen
- Help solve typical household problems
- Some childcare may be required if Kaitlyn has appointments she needs to attend or evening babysitting
- Gather eggs from the chicken coop
- Outdoor maintenance such as mowing the lawn, tidying the area
- Help with preparation for hosting various dinners and events
I will always help with these as well, just the shear amount on my own is a bit much!
It's essential the person loves kids as they will be around a lot!
We are also looking for someone who would be excited to help teach our children life skills. A new language would be highly sought after (we are particularly interested in *Spanish* or Vietnamese), how to cook, how to do laundry and general life responsibly alongside Kaitlyn.

We would give preference to someone who is interested in a longer term relationship.

We can also be flexible sometimes on hours. We often go away on vacation so there may be needs at the house when away - but person may also have hours that we don’t need or accumulated on different days if they’d like to travel longer or farther. We’re a very easy going family and want you to have lots of time to explore and we are so excited to also be your guide !

As we’re raising kids, we prefer no smoking or heavy drinking - though I’d love to sit and have a glass of wine or a fun cocktail while the sunsets !
We have quiet evenings and generally do like our privacy when possible, but are also excited to form a relationship where this person becomes part of our family.

Alojamiento
You will have a newly built master suite with a king bed and a private bathroom with a double vanity and shower. The room is located on the top floor of our house which at the moment is completely private. There are 4 bedrooms located upstairs and no one else stays there as we have the kids with us on the main floor (3 bedrooms).
They are welcome to all the food in the house (even the chocolate my kids try to hide in me!). We do eat everything but are super open to new recipes and learning different about cultures and foods.

Transportation around Chilliwack is generally required with a car . You are welcome to bike but areas are fairly spread out until you're downtown. We will be happy to drop you off at bus stops if you need for adventures you'd like to go on or drive you to areas that are not too far away to explore. We want you to have the best time here so we are happy to assist.
