Project Title: "Thinking Globally, Acting Locally: Sustainable Agriculture and Cultural Immersion Farmhouse"
Project Description: The "Thinking Globally, Acting Locally" project at the Agriculture Farmhouse near Kathmandu Valley aims to promote sustainable agriculture practices, cultural exchange, and immersive learning experiences for international volunteers. The project emphasizes "learning by doing" and encourages innovative implementations in the agriculture field. Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage in natural farming, interact with local farmers and agricultural cooperatives, experience traditional fishing methods in the local river, and explore antique places. Additionally, the City Office Kathmandu has will introduce Jumba and Yoga classes to interested participants. The ultimate goal is to foster a global perspective on sustainable agriculture while making a positive impact on the local community.
Objectives:
Promote Sustainable Agriculture: Implement natural farming techniques and organic food production to showcase environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
Facilitate Cultural Exchange: Offer international volunteers a chance to immerse themselves in Nepalese culture, interact with locals, and experience traditional activities.
Empower Local Farmers: Encourage interaction between volunteers and local farmers to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and strengthen the local agriculture community.
Preserve Local Heritage: Engage volunteers in activities related to antique places and local traditions to foster appreciation for Nepal's rich cultural heritage.
Introduce Jumba and Yoga Classes: City office Provide opportunities in Kathmandu for interested participants to learn and teach Jumba and Yoga, promoting physical and mental well-being.
Implementation Plan:
Volunteer Program Management:
Create a detailed program schedule for each season (all time ) to accommodate various activities.
Develop an application and screening process to select motivated and suitable international volunteers.
Organize accommodation, meals, and transportation for volunteers during their stay.
Sustainable Agriculture Initiatives:
Train volunteers in natural farming practices, including organic food production and traditional crop cultivation (e.g., paddy, potato, mustard, vegetables).
Collaborate with local experts and farmers to introduce innovative agricultural techniques that improve productivity and sustainability.
Cultural Immersion and Experiences:
Organize interactions with local farmers and agricultural cooperatives to promote knowledge sharing and cultural exchange.
Facilitate fishing experiences in the local river, emphasizing traditional and sustainable methods.
Plan visits to antique places to provide insights into Nepal's history and cultural heritage.
Jumba and Yoga Classes:
Arrange regular Jumba and Yoga classes during volunteers' stay, in Kathmandu ensuring qualified instructors are available to lead the sessions.
Encourage interested participants to volunteer as instructors to share their expertise.
Farm Work and Internship:
Categorize volunteer tasks into light, intermediate, and heavy work to match participants' abilities and preferences.
Provide proper guidance and training to volunteers to ensure their safety and productivity during farming activities.

Until now volunteers from Europe South America, America, U.K . They actively participate volunteer activities and get Certificate from our Agriculture Farmhouse. Volunteer need to fulfill following requirements
1.you need to bring a photocopy of your passport and visa.
2.you need to send us your profile(CV) to join the farmhouse activites include all information about you and your qualification.
3.you need to bring a 2 photos of yours.
4.you need to fill a form in our city office at Kathmandu before going to
our farmhouse/ or after complete volunteer program.
5.Food is in exchange with work done in farmhouse
Required tools to work in farm:
1.one set of gloves boot and mask for animal caring and in field work.
