Our vision is to cultivate native caña guadua bamboo in diverse organic farming systems. In addition to demonstrating diverse organic production methods we aim to help expand infrastructure and knowledge of value-added processing of bamboo to make cured bamboo available in all of the coastal region, and regularly host training workshops to local Ecuadorians and international collaborators on our 71.5 acre farm. We grow: plantains, bamboo, mandarins, oranges, mangos, yuca, avocado, grapefruit, mamey, cacao, bananas, guanabana, and many varieties of native timber.

In December 2018 we have completed a large and beautiful bamboo house. During certain months of year this house will be filled with groups of engineers, architects and ecology students taking bamboo building courses. During the remaining months the house and the spacious dormitory accomodations will be available for workaway guests. We have 30 beds, 2 living rooms, 6 bathrooms, one large kitchen, and gardens surrounding the house.

We have a large kitchen to cook for groups. When hosting workaway folks in groups of 5 or more we will have a local cook on staff preparing meals, when 5 or less volunteers are working on the farm we will take turns preparing meals for eachother. Delicious ingredients will always be available!

Appreciation - take time to enjoy the local tropical fruits, the beautiful sun, the showers, the stunning sunsets and night skies, learning different languages, and being part of a farming family. There are nearby waterfalls, and cacao processing facilities are are interesting to check out, also the beach is just an hour bus ride away.
Commitment.- keeping your promises, being on time, don’t mind being out of your comfort zone, being proactive in daily tasks, enjoy challenges and being busy most of the day.
Sociable – willing to interact by exchanging experiences, ideas, brainstorming future solutions with us, asking questions when confused, voicing your issues clearly – during your stay.

Our operation is a diverse one, we are open to program development collaborations or collaborations on things like exporting cacao and coffee or fruits or sustainably harvested wood.

    We welcome you!
