  We are a family of eight. The three oldest children have already moved out and are in university or vocational training and only visit occasionally. The three youngest (8, 11, and 14 years old) still live at home. We live in northern Baden-Württemberg, in the beautiful Hohenlohe region, a wine-growing area on the northern edge of the Swabian-Franconian Forest. In autumn, the colorful foliage of the vineyards makes the area particularly beautiful. Our house and garden are located in a quiet residential area, on a cul-de-sac, where children can play outside comfortably.

  Wir sind eine 8-köpfige Familie. Die drei ältesten Kinder sind schon ausgezogen und in Studium und Ausbildung und kommen nur selten zu Besuch. Die drei Jüngsten (8, 11, 14 Jahre) sind noch zu Hause.
  Wir wohnen im Norden Baden-Württembergs, im schönen Hohenlohe, einer Weinbaugegend am nördlichen Rande des Schwäbisch-Fränkischen Waldes. Im Herbst ist die Natur durch das bunte Weinlaub hier besonders schön. Unser Haus und Garten liegen in einer ruhigen Wohngegend, in einer Sackgasse, wo Kinder auch schön draußen spielen können.

  We hope that our guests will help the children overcome their inhibitions about speaking English in everyday situations. We are a musical family, and perhaps we could even make music together if the guest plays an instrument (we have several), or I could teach them something. We also keep bees, which could be a great topic to learn about, and perhaps we could also exchange ideas about cooking and other interesting subjects.

  Wir möchten durch die Gäste den Kindern die Hemmungen nehmen, im Alltag englisch zu sprechen.
  Wir sind eine musikalische Familie und vielleicht können wir auch gemeinsam musizieren, wenn der Gast ein Instrument kann (das bei uns vorhanden ist und das sind einige), oder ich könnte ihm etwas beibringen.
  Wir haben auch Bienen, worüber man was lernen könnte und vielleicht entsteht auch ein Austausch über das Kochen und andere interessante Themen.

  Ayuda

  We would appreciate some help in the garden: pruning shrubs together, turning compost, clearing and digging beds, and fertilizing with horse manure and compost. Another wish would be to help the children learn English through play, speaking it in everyday situations like playing, crafting, cooking, and baking. If their skills allow, we could also do some writing exercises with them. We would also welcome anyone willing to help with housework, cooking together, and anything else that needs doing around the house and garden.

  Wir würden uns über Hilfe im Garten freuen: gemeinsames Sträucher schneiden, Kompost umsetzen, Beete abräumen, umgraben und mit Pferdemist und Kompost düngen, ....
  Und ein weiterer Wunsch wäre, mit den Kindern spielerisch englisch zu lernen, durch sprechen im Alltag beim Spielen, Basteln, Kochen und Backen,...und wenn es die Kenntnisse hergeben vielleicht auch mal ein paar schriftliche Übungen mit den Kindern zu machen.
  Wir würden uns auch über Offenheit für gemeinsame Hausarbeit, gemeinsames Kochen und was vielleicht sonst noch in Haus und Garten anfällt, freuen.

  We can converse in English and enjoy learning in this regard and expanding our vocabulary. I also learned French at school a long time ago and am learning a bit of Swedish myself, the children and my husband are learning a little bit of Italian. --- Wir können uns auf englisch unterhalten und lernen diesbezüglich dabei gerne dazu, erweitern unseren Wortschatz. Ich hatte lange her in der Schule auch Französisch und lerne selber ein bisschen Schwedisch, die Kinder und mein Mann ein klein wenig Italienisch.

  Alojamiento

  There is either a room for the older children in the house or a room in the garage building with its own bathroom and a small kitchen corner in which there is a nursing bed. Unfortunately there is no WiFi there.
  
  A meal is cooked for everyone once a day. Otherwise, it is self-service for bread or muesli
  
  I cook one warm meal a day for all. This can be at midday or at evening.
  
  In the morning it gets for example muesli in self-service, because everyone likes other fruits and sorts of flakes and milk or yogurt...And the third meal, also in self- service, can be bread with different bread toppings and vegetables. Some people like to eat bread twice a day, once sweet, once salty. This is also possible. Self-service doesn't mean that one can't sit together at the table to eat. It only means, that everyone can take other ingredients

  Zur Verfügung steht entweder ein Zimmer der großen Kinder im Haus oder ein Zimmer im Garagengebäude mit eigenem Bad und kleiner Küchenecke, in dem ein Pflegebett steht. Dort ist leider kein Wlan vorhanden.
  
  Gekocht wird einmal täglich für alle oder es gibt Selbstbedienung bei Brot oder Müsli.

  You can enjoy beautiful hikes or bike rides here, but you can also easily reach the city by bus or car, where you can shop and go swimming. Further excursions to nearby major cities are possible by S-Bahn and train.

  Man kann hier wunderschöne Wanderungen oder Radtouren machen, kommt aber auch mit dem Bus oder Auto in die Stadt, wo man einkaufen und schwimmen gehen kann. Mit S-Bahn und Zug sind dann weitere Ausflüge in die nächsten Großstädte möglich.

  Motorhomes could park in our courtyard. For families, we might need to add some extra mattresses. --- Wohnmobile könnten bei uns im Hof parken. Für Familien müsste man vielleicht noch Matratzen dazu legen.
