Safari Camp is a small, family run safari lodge located in the southern sector of Kafue National Park in Zambia, a 5-6 hour drive from Livingstone and the Victoria Falls and home to an amazing array of wildlife, including 4 of the Big 5.

All our staff are drawn from communities that border the park. The communities are isolated, generally poor and follow a traditional subsistence lifestyle. Interaction with our staff, their families, other community members, including the local chief and headmen is encouraged and visits, time and transport availability permitting is possible.

We are looking for a professionally trained chef for one to three months during the months of July and September 2017, to work with our kitchen staff with the principle goal of sharing ideas, best practices and recipe development. The volunteer will be able to join scheduled game viewing activities and supply runs to Livingstone,as and when space allows, and will be paid a small allowance to cover incidentals.

Either in safari tents or our visiting pilot/guides accommodation. These are en-suite units that include 3/4 beds, bedding, flushing toilets and hot showers.
We are principally a wildlife safari destination and very isolated. Volunteers are free to join scheduled activities, which include bush walks and game drives, and supply runs to either Livingstone or Itezhi-Tezhi, which take place, on average, once every 7 to 10 days. Livingstone is the nearest major centre, and the Victoria Falls, and associated activities, the major attraction.
