Hello fellow Workawayers,
My name is Ibrahim. I live in a small village near Ortaca, Muğla, with my wife. I have a son who studies at university in Istanbul. Muğla is a touristic region on the southwest coast of Turkey.
I used to work as a computer programmer. As I always dreamed of living a simple life away from the crowds of big cities, I decided to quit my job in 2014 and move to this peaceful village.
We grow vegetables and fruits mainly for our own needs on our small farm. We try to produce as much as possible using ecological and natural methods.
We enjoy meeting people from different cultures, sharing experiences, and learning from each other. We would especially like to host volunteers who are open-minded, friendly, and willing to connect, share daily life, and spend meaningful time together. -

Generelly, We need help with simple gardening projects. If you have experience in farming they are easy tasks such as vegetable planting, harvesting, hoeing. We have maiintains and DIY works also. Helping hours are quite flexible.

I have a three bedroom house , You can stay there a private room. We are not vegetarians but we usually cook vegetables.

There are a lot of touristic places. My farm is also not far from some beaches, they are only 6 km from the farm. In order to go to all those places, you can use public transport which is pretty affordable.
I can pick you up from the airport (Dalaman) or from the bus station (Ortaca or Dalaman). -

Ibrahim and his family were great hosts to me for around 10 days. Ümmü makes some amazing meals and I was lucky that Ibrahim’s son was visiting for the duration of my stay because everyone was so welcoming and a total pleasure to be around. The experience was really good. I enjoyed staying in Ibrahim's family. If you like to get to know more about Turkish food and culture probably this is the best place for you. He is very friendly, his main sentence was that; "it's better to have friendship than order you to work all the time", so working with him is very nice.

Ibrahim and his wife Ümmü were great hosts. I immediately felt very welcome and accommodated. The work schedule was laid back and the work itself was enjoyable and varied, trimming trees, weeding, etc. I was also given good advice on places to visit nearby.

Ibrahim is a nice person. We spent about two weeks at his house and were welcomed in a hospitable environment. The work was not very hard and we enjoyed good food and the company in his house. I recommend this place if you look for a calm workaway in a beautiful area of turkey.
