We are a Portuguese / English family who have been living on our beautiful piece of land in southern Alentejo's Parque Natural da Costa Vicentina with our two children (15 months and 4.5 years old) for the past two years. Our land is 2.7 hectares of nature with lots of trees, a canal, a lake, our house and a guest cottage.

We’re located near Sao Teotonio. There are 5 amazing beaches (Amalia, Machados, Carvalhal, Alteirinhos and Zambujeira do Mar) within 10 minutes drive as well as numerous towns and villages to visit. The Rota Vicentina fisherman's trail passes nearby and there are good surf beaches not too far afield in Odeceixe and Aljezur.

We’re looking for volunteers to help us maintain and develop the land - creating a vegetable garden, a food forest and more. We can offer accommodation in a fully furnished private cottage and in return would ask for 4 hours work a day. The help might include weeding, landscaping, planting, strimming, childcare, building and more - depending on your skills and interests and what needs doing.
We would especially love to host people who we can learn from therefore experience in permaculture gardening, bio pool creation, solar installations would be especially helpful. The location is rural so your own transport would be recommended but we could lend you two bikes.Idiomas hablados

You will be staying in your own self contained two bedroom cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay, a full kitchen and living room with wood burner for heating the place.
Our mealtimes are driven by our two small children so we would ask you to prepare your own food in the full kitchen in the cottage. We will invite you to join us for a meal from time to time (like when we fire up the pizza oven 😋) but most meals will be your own responsibility.Algo más...
There is plenty to do around the area in your free time, a lot of walking routes in the Costa Vicentina Natural Park which take you past amazing beaches and cliffs, great places to eat for any budget, surfing, exploring the Algarve's beaches, farmers markets, Portuguese festivals or just reading a book on the day bed or by the lake.

We have a 5g internet connection (with an aerial for better reception) which works surprisingly well... Download speeds of up to ~60mbps - enough to work and have zoom meetings but not super fast - especially at busy times.
