Hi! We are Halley and Gencho, a young couple who moved to Bulgaria after being Digital Nomads for a few years. We are living in a village near Veliko Tarnovo, the medieval capital of Bulgaria.
We moved to our own village house in 2024 and we're still in the process of rennovating the house and creating a sustainable garden. We have big plans and need lots of help!

About us:
Halley studied Peace Education and spent several years volunteering with CISV. She is a freelance voice-over actress and English teacher for kids. She loves doing any kind of art (knitting, painting, henna, etc) and is especially interested in herbalism and gardening.
Gencho is an engineer and spent several years working on organic farms. He is an audio editor and postural restoration trainer. He loves playing chess and running.

We were both Workawayers ourselves in several places when we were traveling, and now that we have our own place we want to be the kind of hosts we wish we'd had!

The main things we need help with in the fall are outdoor cleaning/organizing, gardening tasks, painting, art projects, and keeping the house tidy.
We also welcome Bulgarians who can help with translation and language tutoring.

We live close to the beautiful city of Veliko Tarnovo, which has so much to explore- including a river and trails, old fortresses and archeological sites, a major university, and lots of shops and restaurants. The closest town is a 15 minute drive and has a train that goes to the city regularly, and we go to the city at least twice a week. Our village is quite small but peaceful, and there are lots of fields around with walking paths.

Veliko tărnovo is a cute and small city, easily passable by buses or taxis.
