Hi! In a 1930's home that once belonged to a Mrs. Noble (which was moved out of the no-longer-in-existance town of "South Bisbee" to an area so south of Old Bisbee that's its almost Mexico) we are building up our homestead and starting a family~ We're on an open acre in the valley about 10 minutes from all the funky fun that Old (downtown) Bisbee has to offer- and also about 10 minutes from the border, with a fantastic view of the majestic San Jose Mt. in Mexico.

We are excited about simple and sustainable living, which means being more aware, more hands on, and more a part of the processes that get us fed, housed, bathed, hydrated, clothed, entertained, enriched, CONNECTED and so on!- and what a process it is to grow into these values coming from the culture that we do..
Our little, growing family sure would appreciate some helping hands!

Bisbee is a super cool spot to get involved in natural building, sustainability projects, off grid living and the like. We're working toward our own unique combination of those at our homestead, and truly, it’s just the beginning.

The one writing this is me, Natalie, a 32 year old brand new mama. I've rebuilt my truck, a bus and a camper at various times, lived on the road, worked in Montessori and LOVE kiddos and the curious nature of all humans, am a singer songwriter, run the ecstatic dance here in Bisbee, teach yoga and collaborate with others to put on other community events and host gatherings. All things ebbing and flowing, mind you. Especially now that I'm raising a little human! :)

My husband Yehoshua is a 46 year old spiritual explorer and my centered grounding stone. While I’m usually a fully pollen-packed busy-bee, he’s steady, patient and spacious. He’s worked in macrobiotic kitchens, managed an ashram, been practicing meditation for 25 years and qigong for 20, lived in a variety of communities and, though these implementations are in development, is passionate about living in alignment with the moons cycles, more closely with the earth and in kind communion with animals- as am I.
We have 12 goats (!) and 7 chickens, three cats and two dogs.

The other resident on property at this time is our dear friend Cyn. Cyn is a quirky (and I swear psychic) woman of versatile know-how and artistic skill. She lives in an RV in the side yard. She often keeps to herself but will probably confuse you with witty and awkward jokes when she comes around. A good late night hang buddy. :)

I am really needing help from folks who are pretty self sufficient. This doesn't mean you have to be a pro at any of the projects we're taking on, but we’re not going to be able to be right along side during every work day. So we need folks who can keep on keeping on with confidence and communication.

Bisbee is a unique, small town rich in high-desert beauty, biology and geology, it is rich in history, rich with interesting people, rich with secret wonders... Many different people have lived and worked these mountains and valleys since the natives inhabited them, in search of a better life, of course, and it would seem that the tradition continues..

If you're looking for a peaceful and grounded space, you'll find it here at our homestead (besides the neighborhood dogs... and ours at times too.. who do a bit of barking). We highly value folks who know themselves well and respect the lifestyle choices of others. While we deeply respect the lifestyle choices of others, we do not want alcohol or drugs here. The exceptions being the use of weed in ones own space and alcohol moderately on a special occasion. We ask folks to respect our quiet hours, as we largely go to bed with the sun. Conscientiousness around cleaning up after oneself is also a must.

For housing accommodations we can currently provide a sturdy canvas bell tent, or a small vintage camper, both with bedding and electric. You will be invited to use the front porch which picks up the wifi well, the living room and kitchen within certain hours, the bathroom anytime, and the laundry machine.
Yes we have wifi, yes it cools down at night here in the most refreshing and enlivening way, so come prepared, and yes the bell tent is quite spacious- you can stand up in it! The camper is as well but you can only stand up in it if you're 5'8 or under.
If you have a camper or RV, we have space, and possibly hook ups (depends on the size of your rig).

We are asking very minimal hours for trade, and so at this time we will not be offering food accommodations. As mentioned, our kitchen is yours to take care of your needs, fridge space, cabinet space, use of spices and oils and tools... even the bread maker if you like! -But we ask that you manage your own grocery shopping and cooking while you're here.

**If this is a deal breaker for you, it is possible to work out another dynamic, so do let us know.

  • Algo más...

    Algo más...

At a glance, Bisbee may seem sleepy, but its really not! There's always something fun happening each weekend night, even on the weekdays there are often people to be found gathering somewhere, to music or otherwise. There are hiking trails and natural features to be explored all over the place, Mexico within 10 minutes to visit for yummy food, Spanish practice or everyones favorite free time activity: affordable dental work. Also, if you're like me and love a good thrift, there are some fabulous spots to find treasures. PS: Sierra Vista the "box store town" is only 35 min away for all that kinda stuff which one might need.

We are animal lovers, and any pets must be friendly with other critters. We have cats and dogs and chickens and goats. Ranger, the resident border collie/lab gets along with most other critters with the exception of some large male dogs. Let's talk. He's getting older so it's less of a thing all the time. We cannot accept destructive animals, animals that have the potential to harm a goat or chicken, or animals that cannot stay outside peacefully or in your agreed space when you cannot attend to them. More critters hanging out inside our main home is not an option.
