We had a truly wonderful experience with Damien and highly recommend this Workaway opportunity. Damien was very attentive to our well-being and made sure that we enjoyed the tasks at hand. The property is a piece of paradise with a beautiful garden and rewarding work in a peaceful + remote location. We can enjoy the sound of silence, along with

Damien is respectful of nature and animals, and it was amazing to see how relaxed the animals, like the sheep, peacefully coexist. The flexibility of the work and schedule was appreciated, and it allowed us to really enjoy our time there.
The evening meals were at Damien’s house and always incredible—prepared with fresh, local products, and in abundance. Anne-Marie would usually help get dinner ready and do the dishes afterwards. She really enjoyed working in the kitchen as it is spacious and the place is well-designed.
Virginie learned so much about gardening, living off the grid, permaculture, and the like, and she had access to all the necessary tools, making the work enjoyable, especially in the pure air of the surroundings. Damien took the time to explain the tasks, share insights about life in Tasmania, and show us around the local Lorinna community. One of the highlights was a lovely swim in a nearby lake, just a few minutes away, which was the cherry on top of our Sunday! Willow, Damien’s dog, was a pleasure to have around too!
Our accommodation was an independent, stunning, cozy, and fully equipped cabin—everything we needed and more. It was a fantastic experience, and we are grateful for the time spent here!
I must admit to a few concerns before Anne- Marie, Virginie and their two young kids Elwood and Willsy arrived. I need not have worried. From the outset Anne-Marie sought clear guidance on staying on my farm to make sure they all did the right things. They were very considerate of my space and of my wellbeing throughout their stay and I was very

Virginie proved to be an excellent worker who, after clear instructions just put her head down and worked like a Trojan. She showed a lot of initiative too and picked up unfamiliar tasks very easily. I wish all helpers were as easy and productive as her.
Anne-Marie looked after the kids through the day and then she and Virginie would swap roles in the evening. She helped me cook dinner and then cleaned up all the dishes etc afterwards. She was inquisitive about life here and was a fantastic French language teacher, helping me to improve my limited French vocabulary. We had a lot of great discussions about all manner of things.
I would welcome them all back anytime. Equally I can recommend them as interesting, hardworking and considerate Workawayers.

Mao and Yuri came and stayed for nearly a week. They were both enthusiastic workers despite having no farm experience. Always very polite. They both contributed to house work willingly and they are now committed Workaway enthusiasts.

Lian and Steven came and stayed for three weeks and were wonderful Workawayers. Reliable, hard working and very independent, we achieved a lot while they were here. We were with Damien for 3 weeks. He's easy going and friendly, always with patience to answer all our endless questions about the plants and sheep, the operation of his farm, also very kind to lend us his truck for our day offs 😊
Steven provided his mechanical skills to help Damien with his tractor and Ranger while I helped with weeding and

The workawayer's cabin provided is phenomenal! Fully self contained with huge windows (spectacular sunrise 😍) , spacious, comfy bed and the wood stove which not only keep us warm through the cold rainy nights but also powerful to do serious Chinese stir-fry 😋😘
We both missed Willow dearly, she's always keeping us company, such a sweet and friendly dog! 🥰

Ayame is a wonderful Workawayer. She was very courteous and considerate and always ready to help with the work here on my farm. She didn't need much supervision as she grasped the work very quickly and then worked reliably. She was also a great help in the house with cleaning and other household chores. She got on well with my dog Willow and was

The week I spent with Damien was a beautiful day that I will never forget!
Coming to Tasmania and getting to know Lorinna was special.
The people who live here are full of love!!!!
The work varies from picking organic vegetables, to cleaning windows, to pulling weeds.
After a little work, Damien said 「It's morning tea time~! It's lunch time~!

I want to come back here again!
I would like to know and recommend it to many people.
Thank you for all, Damien.

Mel and Bryan stayed with me for about 10 days over Christmas. They were great people to have around, hard working and good natured. They always chipped in around the house too without having to be asked. I would happily recommend them to other hosts.

Me and my partner where looking for a place to stay while searching for a farm job to extend our visas for a second year. Right after contacting Damien, we did found one, but he kindly agreed to take us under his roof just for a couple of days. But what a roof it was! We arrived in Lorinna taking a crazy small bumpy route, which felt like some

We arrived at a beautiful and huge (as it turned out during our little orientation trip around his property) farm, got accommodated in a private guesthouse and began exploring the place. We quickly agreed on a work schedule, got assigned a few tasks like bringing the wood from one end of Damien's farm to another to cut and stack it. He took great care of us, turned out to be a great cook as well. He prepared us a few delicious and filling dishes using ingredients from his garden or local community. There was a good balance between work, pleasure like just talking or cooking in a beautifully designed kitchen, fully equipped with amazing gadgets, (we love food so that was one of the highlights of our stay) and getting some privacy to just chill and suck in gorgeous views. And there was Willow, the greatest most friendly dog in the world, we fell in love with her as well.
It was a great pleasure to stay with Damien, time passed by quickly while working in such a good company.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Aleksandra and Mikolaj came and stayed just a few days at my place. Their stay was cut short by the opportunity to get some paid work which they were up front about. They were both hard workers, very polite and respectful of my space. They helped me get a healthy stack of firewood carted, split and stacked and contributed to household chores
