Imagine standing in a living classroom where ancient rainforest whispers meet the vibrant pulse of mangroves. At our 527-acre sanctuary in Cape Kimberley, nestled within the Daintree Rainforest, we’re not just planting trees—we’re rewilding the future. This is your chance to be part of a bold movement: transforming an abandoned organic banana farm into a thriving biodiversity hotspot, one native tree at a time.

By 2030, we’ll plant 360,000+ native trees—but this isn’t just about numbers. It’s about stitching together ecosystems, creating wildlife corridors for cassowaries, tree kangaroos, and rare species, and reconnecting complex rainforest with some of Earth’s most vital mangroves. Every seedling you nurture will breathe life back into a landscape that’s been waiting centuries for this moment.

Get Your Hands in the Soil & Your Heart in the Wild
This isn’t a desk job. This is dirt-under-your-nails, sun-on-your-back, rainforest-in-your-lungs work. Join a tribe of passionate rainforest guardians, seed whisperers, and future-builders, who believe action speaks louder than words.

    Right now, we’re needing support:
🌱 Nursery Support – Growing the Forest From the Ground Up
Join Nursery Lead, Emily, in the beating heart of our regeneration work — the nursery. Here, every tray, pot, and seedling holds the promise of a future rainforest. You’ll get hands-on with weeding, some hand watering, seed collecting, germination, and transplanting, ensuring thousands of young plants get the best possible start. You’ll also tend to our raised bed veggie gardens, our agroforestry food forest, and carry out plant health checks.

Expect to work surrounded by the scent of rainforest soil, the sight of vibrant new leaves, and the calls of native birds as your soundtrack. Every tray you prepare could be part of the 360,000 native trees we’re planting, helping restore biodiversity and reconnect the rainforest to its mangrove edges. Along the way, you’ll learn tropical propagation techniques, pest and disease spotting, and garden management skills you can take anywhere.

Best of all, you’ll be part of a small, passionate team that shares knowledge and laughs as readily as they share tasks. If you enjoy nurturing life and seeing quick, tangible results, this is your perfect role.

🌳 Land Support – Working the Frontlines of Regeneration
Join Land Manager Tom out in the field, where the real transformation of the land is taking place. Across four active regeneration zones — three pure native rainforest plant-outs and one blended system combining food crops with native species — plus our growing agroforestry systems, you’ll help the forest take root and flourish.

Your days will be varied: hand weeding, de-vining, pruning, mulching, and caring for soil health. It’s active, physical work — a workout with purpose — and one of the most rewarding parts is seeing the immediate difference your efforts make. You’ll watch landscapes change before your eyes as weeds give way to young native trees, canopy cover thickens, and wildlife begins to return.

You’ll work across a variety of systems, each with its own rhythm and challenges. If you thrive on fresh air, teamwork, and the satisfaction of visible progress, you’ll love it here.

🔬 Research Support – Turning Data Into Conservation Impact
Work alongside Research Director Jack to explore the science driving our restoration success. You’ll help conduct plant-out health assessments, ecological surveys for flora and fauna, DBH measurements, and soil and water sampling and analysis. You can also contribute to the behind-the-scenes side of conservation: data cleaning, visualisation, and GIS development — skills that turn raw field observations into insights that shape real-world strategies.

This role offers unique access to tools and methods often reserved for professional researchers, from IoT systems and soil EC probes to mapping software. You might be the first to record a returning bird species, notice a rare event, or spot growth patterns that influence our next planting phase.

Everything you collect feeds into open-source restoration data, helping other projects worldwide. With mentorship from experienced restoration scientists, you’ll gain knowledge that’s invaluable for future careers in ecology, conservation, or environmental science — all while working in one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth.

    Why You?
If you’ve ever dreamed of leaving a tangible mark on the planet, this is your moment. We need gritty optimists who laugh in the rain, cheer when a seedling sprouts, and feel awe watching a rainforest canopy regenerate. No experience? No problem—just bring curiosity, grit, and a love for wild places.

    Come Alive in the Daintree
Work where the air hums with cicadas, where mist clings to 180-million-year-old ferns, and where every sweat-soaked hour helps heal the Earth. You’ll not only grow trees—you’ll grow connections: to the land, to rare ecosystems, and to a global community fighting for our planet’s future.

    Ready to Dig Deeper?
The soil is calling. Let’s plant hope, together.

    🌱 360,000 trees by 2030. Let’s make history.
    Join the Regeneration.

**We have a research experience opportunity available at the end of August 2026. Our research department will have an opening for a volunteer to assist with on ground field collection support and bioacoustics during the biannual ecological surveys, for approx 6-8 weeks. If you are interested in this opportunity, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Currently we are looking for a few long-term based volunteers (ideally 2+ months) to help with the processes required in running our operation. We would like to encourage people to stay a minimum 1 month, as it takes time and energy for team members to train, educate and share processes with new volunteers.

Join us in our thriving nursery, where you can get hands-on with germinating seeds, relocating trays of young plants, strengthening infrastructure, tackling weeds, and immersing yourself in the daily rhythm of farm life. One of the most rewarding activities is seed collecting, which takes you exploring the surrounding rainforest, beaches, and landscapes to gather the next generation of native plants.

Our communal gardens are bursting with herbs, vegetables, and tropical fruit trees that need care—pruning, mulching, and weeding to keep them flourishing. We're also expanding our nursery and hardening areas, so there's plenty of room for creative input and hands-on building.

And it’s not just about the land—we also take time to care for our oceans. Regular beach clean-ups give you the chance to help protect marine life while soaking in the breathtaking coastal scenery.

There’s always something meaningful to do, whether on the farm, in the nursery, or along the shores. If you’re proactive, love nature, and have a can-do attitude, you’ll find endless opportunities to learn, connect, and create unforgettable memories. Come be a part of our mission—your time and energy will make a real difference!

If you're specialised in carpentry, mechanics, content creation (social media management) or agriculture/nursery management then we are eager for your expertise on site. There's never only one way of doing things, and to have input from people with different backgrounds is vital to a community driven project.

  • Algo más...

    Algo más...

There are a plethora of outdoor activities to do here within the Daintree, whether going to the local beaches, exploring the nearby creeks or taking strenuous missions up to the top of mountains. It's an outdoor adventure land. If you'd prefer to enjoy cafe's and general amenities, we are only a 45 min drive from Mossman, and a 2 hour drive from Cairns. Having your own transport would be highly beneficial to make the most of exploring the area, however, the closest beach is only a 2km walk away and the views from the veranda are quite spectacular!

*Please note* Our property is located in the Daintree rainforest, which is a remote rural area accessible by a vehicle ferry (northside of the Daintree River, 45 minutes from Mossman). If you’re considering applying with us to volunteer, please be aware of the following:
-This is a rainforest environment, which means you will have critter/wildlife encounters: think lots of various insects (spiders, mosquitos, flies, moths, butterflies etc). You might also see snakes in the vicinity, or some of the pests in the area including cane toads and even rarely some wild pigs. The rainforest is home to bats, birds, as well as other native rodents and marsupials (all a critical and normal part of the natural biodiversity) and sometimes they may approach the farm shed.
-The weather can be harsh if you are not used to it, it can be very hot, humid, and rainy (especially during the wet season). This is a tropical rainforest, so if you prefer cooler/mild climates, this might not be your best placed habitat.
-Working safely in the heat, and to our own physical capabilities is of high importance here, however some of the duties may be quite physically demanding.
We have a volunteer recruitment form that is to be completed by all prospective applicants, in which we request honest information regarding any relevant medical conditions or other requirements which may prevent or limit you from undertaking physical work/manual labour.
This is not aimed at discriminating against people with varying physical abilities. Rather, to ensure that we have all the information at hand during recruitment, to allocate appropriate tasks for someone’s capability if possible, to ensure volunteer safety (OHS), and confirm sufficient management of medical needs can be met (due to the remote location, medical services may have limited accessibility).

If you are feeling the call to work on something bigger than yourself and immerse yourself in this beautiful ancient rainforest, or have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out!
