We are so many things, where to start? We are a small community of folks on a farm about two hours outside of Medellin. We have some Americans here, Colombians, Venezuelans, and a family from the Arhuaco tribe of the Sierra Nevada. Our farm is home to our small bean to bar organic chocolate factory. We are also sometimes a retreat center, the next retreat is in December.
We have recently purchased this land, and are finishing our first year of building. We have finished some housing, the road, the bridge and the chocolate factory. We are working mostly on housing projects, up next is our ceremonial maloka. We build mostly with guadua. We have 130 hectares or 314 acres, we have lush forests, a beautiful river and waterfall, cacao and coffee trees, monkeys, anteaters, a fishing lake full of fish. Beyond wildlife we have chickens, geese, swans, ducks, goats, cats, dogs, and some parrots whose nest was abandonded that I have been raising.
We are right now specifically looking for someone with some construction experience who is interested in construction with bamboo. We have a couple projects going. Super helpful for this person to speak english and spanish. We have an expert carpenter from the US that only speaks english, and Alex in charge of our construction team that only speaks spanish. What I really need is someone to help bridge that gap that is bilingual. Excellent opportunity to learn about construction in bamboo, and also the opportunity to be a part of creating this sacred space.
We would also be interested in folks with permaculture, gardening or trailbuilding experience.
The americans that live here, we travel a lot for work, so we may or may not be here. You should be comfortable speaking spanish, and also being on your own.
We offer housing and lunch and breakfast on work days. These meals are prepared by our resident cook for the workers who is from Venezuela. Vegan, vegetarian or special diets are generally hard to accommodate. Housing may be at our rental house down the street, there may be a moped for you to use.
We've had some great volunteers in the past, and are so grateful for this exchange.
We prefer a long term commitment, minimum 1 month.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

This is a beautiful sanctuary that is sacred for us, our life project. This is not the place to go to if you are only looking to save money on accommodations for a week. We are a small community, and are happy to share our life with serious folks. This is not a party place, best for independent folks who like to spend time in nature.
