Hello!
We are so many things, where to start? We are a small community of folks on a farm about an hour outside of Medellin. We have some Americans here, and a family from the Arhuaco tribe of the Sierra Nevada. Our farm is home to our small bean to bar organic chocolate factory. We are also sometimes a retreat center, the next retreat is in July.
We need someone right now to help the kids. The children need english lessons, there are 4 kids on different levels. They do take classes in school, but need more. The older two are pretty good, but really need to practice talking and need more advanced lessons. The youngest prefers to play games. We have a newer child, a cousin who has just started learning. Preferred candidate is female. CANDIDATE MUST SPEAK SPANISH.
We prefer a long term commitment, minimum 1 month.
The americans that live here, we travel a lot for work, so we may or may not be here. You should be comfortable speaking spanish, and also being on your own.
Currently, there is a private bedroom with shared bath for your use available. This may be subject to change.
We've had some great volunteers in the past from HelpX, and are so grateful for this exchange.
The farm has a large garden for some of your food sometimes, we have chickens who lay eggs sometimes if they aren't being mommies, sometimes we can find where the ducks hide their eggs. We have natural spring water with alkaline filters, and all the modern appliances you may want like instantpots, airfryers, juicers. We have wifi. There is a swimming pool, and a river to swim in. We have dogs, ducks, geese, chickens, and swans. There are buses that pass right out front to take you to the small town of Barbosa for your basic needs, or to Medellin if you like. Its really wonderful here.
We do make chocolate here and you are welcome to learn that, however those that work in chocolate only speak spanish.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn about chocolate if you are interested, or learning about being more sustainable. This is not the place to go to if you are only looking to save money on accommodations for a week. We are a small community, and are happy to share our life with serious folks. This is not a party place, best for independent folks who like to spend time in nature.
En este proyecto podría haber niños. Para obtener más información, consulta nuestras directrices y consejos aquí.
