  We are a busy family living in a townhouse in North Melbourne, just minutes from Melbourne's CBD. Unlike many Workaway hosts who are based in rural or regional areas, we offer something a little different: an inner-city homestay with excellent public transport, easy access to the airport and everything Melbourne has to offer right on our doorstep.
  
  We are currently a family of three at home: me and my 10 and 16 year old sons. Our eldest, who is 18, has recently moved out. At the moment I am parenting solo while my husband is overseas building a house in Addis Ababa. I also work full-time, so life is busy with work, school, activities and everything else that comes with family life!
  
  We are offering full board and company to anyone able to stay with us for a minimum of 4 days during October until around mid-December.
  
  In exchange for an average of 2 hours of help per day, you'll have your own room in our home, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and plenty of free time to enjoy Melbourne.

  Why stay with us? You're in Melbourne!
  
  One of the biggest advantages of staying with us is our location.
  
  We're in North Melbourne, 3051, close to the CBD, with cafés, restaurants, markets, parks and interesting neighbourhoods all around us.
  
  Melbourne's public transport network makes it easy to explore the city and beyond, and you'll have the freedom to make your own plans and discover Melbourne at your own pace.
  
  We're happy to show you around or take you along with us when our schedules allow, but you should be comfortable exploring independently. You won't need us to entertain you — Melbourne is your playground!
  
  We love cooking and eating together, so it's a bonus if you enjoy food and cooking too!
  
  You won't be expected to cook for the family, but we'd love the occasional shared meal, recipe swap or cooking something together.
  
  We've previously hosted au pairs and exchange students and have really enjoyed getting to know people from other countries — hearing their stories, learning about their cultures and sharing a little of our own Australian family life. We love the concept behind Workaway and we hope to be able to utilise it as travellers one day too!
  
  We'd like you to feel that you're staying in a home rather than simply completing a Workaway placement.
  
  In return for a small amount of practical help each weekday, you'll have your own room, be fed, haveplenty of free time, a comfortable base in inner Melbourne and the opportunity to experience everyday Australian family life.
  
  We're happy to share our local knowledge, recommend places to visit and help you get settled in Melbourne.

  Ayuda

  The help is mainly straightforward, everyday household tasks such as:
  
  * Vacuuming and mopping
  * Cleaning bathrooms
  * Cleaning the kitchen
  * Dusting
  * General tidying
  * Occasionally tackling a slightly bigger household job, such as cleaning the BBQ or doing some outdoor tidying
  
  These are all jobs that my husband or I would normally do ourselves. We're simply looking for someone who can take a few things off our plate while they're staying with us. Quite often I will be doing tasks along side of you to get the jobs done.
  
  This is not a full-time housekeeping role — we're looking for a genuine cultural exchange where you have plenty of time to enjoy Melbourne.

  Alojamiento

  You will have your own private bedroom in our townhouse. The room was previously my study and is shown in the photos. You would share a bathroom. You are welcome in our shared spaces.
  Our home is comfortable and lived-in rather than a pristine hotel — we're a busy family, and we are looking for someone who is happy to become part of an ordinary Australian household.
  You eat with us or prepare your own food depending on our schedule and yours.

  A great Melbourne stopover
  Because we're centrally located, our home can also work particularly well for travellers who are passing through Melbourne.
  If you're travelling around Australia or New Zealand, arriving in Melbourne, or between longer stays elsewhere, we can offer a comfortable homestay where you can take a breather, settle in, do a little household help and explore Melbourne without needing to commit to a remote rural Workaway experience.
  Airport pickup can also be arranged, depending on timing and our availability, which can make arriving in Melbourne much easier.
  We're therefore particularly suited to independent travellers who want a friendly Australian home base while they get their bearings, explore Melbourne and plan the next stage of their travels.
