  I am passionate about permaculture and am nurturing a forest garden project on 1 hectare of land 15 min north of Montpellier and 5 minutes from my place. There are several options for volunteering: gardening, helping install irrigation, taking care of plants in the greenhouse, helping finalise a pond, helping out with illustrations and communications for the permaculture project, cooking dinners, teaching me Italian or Portuguese, maintenance on structures around the garden...and more.
  
  I'm also trying to do some improvement and organisation in my chez moi so that's an option too.
  
  I'm an American woman in my mid 50's, energetic and eager to work with motivated, dynamic people who love life's simple natural pleasures. I teach permaculture courses so you can learn about what this way of life is all about. So many possibilities depending on the interests and passions of volunteers: up cycling, eco-construction (I would welcome someone experienced who can teach me a few things), helping me learn how to sew or knit...
  
  
  Generally looking for people who like to take the initiative and are independent for exploring the city as I may not have too much time to go out and about on the town.

  I don't have a television by choice so evenings can be quiet, plenty of time to go out on the town exploring, read, or attend cultural events in the city.

  Come to the south of France and help with a permaculture/organic farming project and possibly help me learn Italian or Portuguese.
  
  Possibility to volunteer on a permaculture project on a 1-hectare agroforestry project 15 minutes from Montpellier. The garden already has many different fruit trees and we will be working on an educational design project that incorporates gardening, well-being, and environmental education (for example, designing a botanic balade in the garden). I have so many design projects that now need implementation so the choices are vast. I would also really appreciate any help with communications/graphic arts for labels (teas, jams, etc). Let's connect.
  
  I can only host workawayers for very short stays - one week maximum. Timing is tricky, we can work together to find space in 2024. I receive many requests and I have been slow to reply but I will do my best to respond. I can thank you in advance for your interest in my project, a labor of love, and I hope 2024 brings some wonderful cultural exchanges via workaway :)

  Room (9m2) in a house with garden and private parking. 10 minute walk to public bus that goes to Montpellier tram (St Eloi). Beaches are 30 minutes away. Apartment is small (40m2) but lovely sunset views and on the edge of a forest and vineyards, some olive groves - perfect for nature walks. The garden is a 10 minute walk through the forest and vineyards.

  Montpellier is a fun vibrant university town with a big pedestrian town center that dates back to the Middle Ages - very pretty. The region is great for nature lovers - beaches, hiking, kayaking, biking...the Camargue is just an hour away - Marseille is 2 hours away or head to Spain for the weekend - Barcelona is just 4 hours away. Italy too.
  
  Passionate about healthy eating and lifestyle. Volunteer work could include preparing healthy dinners, helping with artwork for various communications related to the permaculture project, helping with permaculture and gardening workshops - many options - let's find the right mix together!
