  Guilherme, Mèki and me (Allena) live in Montemor o Novo (Alentejo) since 3 years. We have 2.5 hectars of land, surrunded by the Almansor river, with sight of the Castel, a cute border collie, 2 donkies (super corny, we know) and plenty of work to reach our main goal: replant the area with trees. Come stay, plant your seed, and help us with some projects while enjoying yourself in nature but also in a town that will surprise you.

  In the house we speak Portuguese, English, Spanish and French. If you want to learn Portuguese it is easy to arrange a local teacher for you. We live in a beautiful town, full of tradition and creative iniciative. Before your arrival we will meet you online, figure out what your areas of interest are to be able to embed you in just the right activities :)

  Ayuda

  You are interested in experimenting with permaculture techniques and have read something about economic-degrowth and municipalism? YOU ARE AT THE RIGHT PLACE! We have a vegetable garden, lines of trees to help the river ecosystem grow stronger, composting areas, a tree nursery...
  
  We are involved in many associations focused on resiliance, strengthening local community (choire, dances) where you will be able to get envolved if you wish to.
  
  If you are someone handy, who is more into building and DIY projects, you will be able to work with Allena finishing the yoga wood deck, build a roof over the barrel sauna (yes you read correctly: you will be able to enjoy the sauna!), build water caption points and several shading areas.

  Alojamiento

  We have two caravans with independent kitchen, shower and bathroom. Each caravan has a double bed and is in perfect cozy conditions. You have Wifi and electricity, eventhough we encourage you to enjoy a bit of digital detox during your stay ;)
  
  We will provide you with vegetables and food from the garden (super BIO), have several 0km cooperatives were we will give you credit to buy any extra food you need. You have an all equiped kitchen area to prepare the meals you wish. We will of course share meals together, but it is not an everyday mandatory ritual ;)

  Algo más...

  Prior to your arrival, we will go over the projects we have available, and regarding your area of interest and capabilities we will have several tasks that you manage the time. If one day you want to spent a full day with us in the garden, you don't have to work the next day. We are no exploiters and want you to have a good ratio between feeling usefull and learning and having free time to enjoy the area.
  We have a spare bike for you to enjoy the beautiful bycicle trails all around the area.
  Melides and Comporta are beautiful beaches 48min away.
  Town is 4min away by foot, hence you don't need your own car. You have train and bus conexions to Lisbonne (1h) and Evora (20min), and we can also give you rides.
  There is a rich cultural agenda in town with cinema sessions (VO with subtitles), theater, contemporany dance (Espaço do Tempo - Rui Horta), ceramic classes, dance classes, Alentejo singing, honey making... you won't get bored, PROMISE.

  We do have internet, it would be more interesting though to go to the local library or other co-working spaces

  If you have your own van we have plenty of spaces where you can choose to stay. Having a bathroom and shower area closer to our caravans.

  We do have a very social dog, other pets are welcome if they behave and don't attack other animals (chicken, sheep, donkies...)
