We are looking to connect with volunteers for help with various tasks around the house. Mostly, these include tasks such as tidying up around the house, painting the house and making improvements and maintaining the front yard and the back porch of the house.
As the project progresses, a few examples of the varied work that will be required are: digging, plastering, bricklaying, carpentry, chopping wood and mixing cement, as well as building a balcony and making a start on landscaping the garden - all creativity welcome.

Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania. It's the country’s first World Heritage City, and also the birthplace of the United States, where our Founding Fathers met, discussed, debated and formed a new country.
Since my house is just next to the Trolley stop, it gives you a great base from which to explore the city and learn about the rich cultural heritage. A lot of the people that I have hosted are delighted to have a chance to experience life in such a historic city and get a chance to visit the nearby historical sights. I enjoy teaching people about the cultural history of my city, especially about the local area that I live in and some unique places in the city that are only known by the locals.
Philly is also a wonderful place for people to improve their English and has a lot of great language schools and even English classes offered for free. I am always happy to teach English to our guests, and find that people are often shy and uncomfortable speaking when they arrive but after a few weeks of practice become very talkative and thus improve the language skills very quickly.

The house is conveniently located just 5 min walking from the Trolley, which is just a few stops away from Downtown. You will have your own private room, and share the rest of the house (living room, kitchen, bathroom, terrace, laundry room) with me and fellow travellers. The house has Wifi and a fully equipped kitchen witch you are welcome to use. When I'm around I like to cook and provide meals. If I find myself busy I can provide you with a food stipend instead and advise about affordable grocery stores within our area.
