I am a life long homestead dreamer, and a finally-doer. Alongside my partner and three kids I have finally made my homesteading dreams come true! I am now five years into this property, and it is the longest I have every lived anywhere in my entire life, believe it or not!

I have a half-acre homestead garden that I am looking for help with. My partner is often around, but a lot of his time is spent running his newly launched nano-brewery, so I need some extra help. Together we are working toward self-sufficiency, and would love to find others to join us short and long term!

Campobello Island is a unique location in that it is part of Canada, but for the majority of the year the only access to Canada is by driving through the state of Maine. We have a seasonal ferry, run by a private company, that runs for four months out of the year to a neighbouring island, where there is another ferry that takes you to the mainland. The rest of the year our only access to the outside world is a bridge to Lubec, Maine.

I am looking for help with everything from gardening, to fermenting, food preservation, and more! Part of your experience here will be learning what it takes to run a self sufficient homestead, and what goes into staying prepared for every season.

There is always something to do here!

  • Alojamiento

    Alojamiento

Depending on who is with us your accommodations will vary. We have a fully renovated camper on our property, as well as empty bedrooms every other week, and a yurt and campsites in the summer (bedding and tents provided).

We love to host, and LOVE to share our delicious food with others. While here you can expect all food to be provided. Generally breakfast is fend-for-yourself style from a fridge full of food, and lunch and dinner will be prepared for everyone.

    We also provide all meals.

    Algo más...

Our 8-acre homestead is oceanfront, with amply opportunity to build cabins, and expand (our zoning permits this) should we find the right people to connect with!

We are both ADHD, so our skills and interests vary. Here are some tasks/projects/opportunities that could be available to you, while here:

Slaughtering and butchery, breeding (Chickens, pigs and rabbits), building projects, music collaboration, wet preservations, sausage making, bread making, fermentation, soap making, etc
