I'm a 57 years old Retired Nurse who lived in Canada for 34 years and just purchased a piece of the Atlantic Forest on the Mantiqueira Mountains.

Our focus is to create a Canadian Ecovillage in Brazil, where we use English as our first Language, so locals and people from non-speaking Countries may improve their English Language skills and Cultural Awareness while having a true Forestal Living Experience in our beautiful Reserve!!!💚 Our main focus is reforestation of pastures inside of the Atlantic Rainforest.🌱 We also have a variety of areas in need of assistance at this moment, such as to restore and reinforce the structure of our community kitchen and kennel, solve water leak around our main home, roofing, build new and restore old bathrooms, small construction projects, a lot of Carpentry, sewage, water capitation and Electrical issues fixing/ maintenance and supporting our ongoing Atlantic Forest Reforestation.💚🌱

We encourage people from all over the world to visit as a Work4Stay or Client in order to support and contribute with our projects. 5 hrs a day x 5 days a week or 4 hours a day x 6 day a week is a fair trade.🤝🏾 Do your work and go explore the Atlantic Rainforest!🌴 Boots, long pants long sleeves, sunglasses, large hats and gloves are necessary for safety reasons. *Please be aware: Snakes and many others venomous and/or dangerous creatures, are everywhere in the forest!🐍🦂🕷🦟🐝🐸🐒🐅🦧🐆

Bring a water filter as well and your reusable cup. My family and I do drink water straight from our mountains' springs, but please feel free to filter it, if you prefer.

    *Our Volunteers must NOT smoke.

*Social drinks are accepted at your own expenses. You will be considerate towards others at all times and participate on daily routines such as general cleaning, meals preps, maintaining main areas such as kitchen, bathroom, kennel, chicken coup, sheep house and all living and entertaining areas clean daily.

*We appreciate two weeks stayers, but we're willing to be open to take longer stayers, as long bother sides are pleased.🤝🏾
*We're also fully aware and very understanding when People chooses to leave early.🎯

We don't cook for guests but we encourage visitors and campers to participate during meals preparations and social other activities such as hiking, swimming or being around the firepit on cold evenings. For your protection, please bring long neck boots, gardening gloves, hats, sunscreen and a must have, rain coats. Be aware that forest living offers many perks, but can be dangerous as well. There are amphibians, insects, birds and reptiles whose only home, are inside of the Atlantic Rain Forest.🐍🐸🐆

Please have all WHO's recommended immunization and health insurance for anyone travelling to Brazil, up to date. At this moment, the recommendations are yellow fever and Covid-19. Unfortunately, due to my age, I'm unable to accept unvaccinated Volunteers. It also might be a good idea to also bring mosquito repellent/net, topical antiseptic, bandaid and allergy ointments for cuts and bites, antihistamine meds, long neck Boots, long sleeves/pants and tops, old working clothing, large edges hats, Rain coat, many pairs of construction gloves.

We are able to accommodate SINGLES only in our shared dorm for Volunteers, but are open for couples that have own tents, Vanhomes or don't mind sharing our bunk dorm with other Volunteers. Families with underage Children are not allowed to share the Volunteers' room. Your Children must be a mobile home or Parents must rent one of our private rooms.

We have an ongoing reforestation of the Atlantic Rain Forest project, which requires collecting native seeds to grow new trees to warrant the perpetuation of the its species. Also, as they grow, we must daily maintain the area around them free of weeds.

Weekly forest shopping or foraging to harvest our daily food such as fruit, roots, vegetables and much more, is an incredible class in itself!!!💚😋 You will be learning or sharpen your skills while sharing and exploring the very biodiverse, Atlantic Rainforest's fauna and flora. Its It's extremely important to be aware of daily precautions needed in order to safely live surrounded by dangerous enphibians, reptiles, wild animals, etc... And always remind ourselves that we are in their home and that althoug the Forest belongs to everyone, not everyone belongs and are able to safely and peacefully live in the forest.
