update march 2024: Thai - Slovak mixed family with 3 little boys and one very little girl :) .. Helping the Thai community in Slovakia, growing Thai herbs and selling Thai products. I am working in IT and my wife is at home. Children 6 and 4 (going to preschool) , 2.5 and 3 months are at home....
We live very near to Capital Bratislava in a little town famous for production of wine, a few meters from forest.

edit: from experiences, this is definitely not good staying for vegetarians :/ ..i am really sorry to say this, but thai kitchen is full of meat and sauces from fish, oyster and so on .. Yes, ,there is also many vegetables,but we are in the middle of europe. not in Thai. Some vegetables are unreachable, mainly in the winter time and original thai vegetables needed for pure vegetables thai food is really hard to buy.

edit2: this is definitelly amazing staying for people who love spicy food as my wife is happy if she can cook for guests the same food she eat.

First we are not looking for pure aupair. Yes, we need help with children, but during this time we will be cooking Slovak and Thai food, doing massages, playing in the garden and gardening.. and many others usually work around the house. Meet the Thai community.

edit: most of work in summer time is around garden and relax zone.. working with wood on children houses, swings, chicken house, chicken voliere,, cutting grass and so on ,, we just trying to do from big garden some place for gardening and also bbq, relax and so on .. any experiences in these kind of projects are welcome.

update march 2024: summer is comming ,,,, little girl is already 3 months old :D ...
We are looking for someone who can help with children and things around family or someone who can help with gardening projects or project around thai street food shop.. :).

On the 3rd floor of the 3 flats house, the private room in the empty flat as other girls from other rooms are working in Thai massage salons around the europe. private bathroom and toilet. We live on the 2nd floor.

Many activities you can find directly in the town ( wine tasting, sport, forest walking) or jump to bus or train and in 20 minutes you can be in the center of Bratislava.

we stayed a fabulous month with a kind family, we loved helping around in the garden, at the soon-to-be-restaurant, Jan always has good stories to tell, it was fun and relax ! thank you for all the delicious food, spicy Thai food or generous Slovak food, it was always yummy!!! hope to come back when your business will be open :) dakujeme !

This family was my first host experience. The children and the husband of the family were super nice and courteous. I had my own room and the family always made sure I had something to eat for breakfast or dinner.

I took care of the three children while the husband of the family worked in a primary school on the weekends. I also raked the leaves… read more in their garden and every weekday I went to the playground with the two oldest children for two to three hours so that their mum had time to take care of the household or the cooking.
I also went for a walk with Patty (the wife of the family) and her children and when she returned with the little one, I continued walking alone with the two older ones because the two oldest children didn't want to go back yet.
The family tried very hard to ensure that I was fine and that I felt very comfortable. And I also had two super nice evenings. A very nice evening with Patty and her Thai friend, we had a little drink together.
And also a very nice evening with Jan, we also drank a glass of wine and talked very well.
I'm naturally shy myself. I became very fond of the children.

I also helped clean the children's toys once and helped Patty do some mucking and tidying up in the basement.

However, sometimes it was not clear what exactly the family expected from me. Because if you asked if they needed any kind of help, the answer was usually no, we do it ourselves (such as washing the dishes or helping to clean up).
I also wonder why this family has such an ad on Workaway, because they have their own private Thai community. Because of this, you unfortunately have to expect that you will have to pack your things again overnight without warning, because a family or a woman from the Thai community needs help now and immediately because they are not happy where they live now and then need the workawayer's room for these people. Unfortunately, I had to experience this painfully. I was very sad.
This fact was very sad and painful for me because it was agreed that I would stay until the end of November.
I can definitely recommend this host family and I am also very satisfied. However, with this host family, you should be aware that you cannot plan for the long term.

Jan from the host family was even so accommodating and picked me up from the central bus station on the day I arrived and will take me back there on the day I leave.
Since I liked it, I would definitely come here again.
