  The Estate is a family-run business located in stunning Argyll, on the West Coast of Scotland. We manage a collection of charming coastal holiday cottages and cabins surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, ancient Neolithic sites, and the wild beauty of the Inner Hebrides. With a friendly and hardworking team, we maintain our properties diligently, ensuring our guests enjoy a truly memorable stay. We also host a variety of events, including weddings, in the beautiful, historic, House and its gardens.

  The Estate sits at the heart of the ancient Kingdom of Dalriada, surrounded by Neolithic sites, standing stones, and breathtaking views over the Inner Hebrides islands of Scarba, Jura, and Mull. This rich historical setting offers a unique chance to immerse yourself in Scotland’s deep past while experiencing the vibrant culture of the present.
  
  Beyond the work, life on the estate is an adventure in itself. Whether you’re exploring the rugged coastline, hiking through dramatic landscapes, or spotting wildlife, there’s always something to discover. The local marina offers boat trips, while the nearby stables provide opportunities for horse riding. Wild swimming, mountaineering, and foraging are all part of the lifestyle here.
  
  Community is at the heart this place. From BBQs and bonfires by the pier to music nights in the village hall, you’ll quickly find yourself welcomed into a friendly and lively group of people. Ardfern, just over the hill, frequently hosts visiting bands, theatre performances, and local gatherings, giving you plenty of opportunities to socialise and experience Scottish hospitality at its best.

  We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive individuals or couples to join our team to help with the day-to-day running of the estate. This role is ideal for couples, and accommodation on the estate can be provided. The position suits hard workers who love the outdoors and have a knack for taking initiative. You’ll be encouraged to manage your own workload and proactively identify ways to improve the estate.
  
  There is always work to be done maintaining the estate's cabins, buildings and land. From turning over accommodation in between guests to fixing windows, keeping the campsite tidy or even clearing bracken. Most of your jobs will be focused on housekeeping, maintenance, and gardening. A huge amount is outside whatever the weather. Inhouse, we have the skills for plumbing,, carpentry, and engineering jobs but we ALWAYS need extra hands in summer.
  
  
  Responsibilities
  
  Housekeeping & Turnarounds: Cleaning and preparing cottages and cabins between guest stays (especially during weekends in summer).
  Maintenance & Repairs: Tasks like painting interiors/exteriors, fixing cupboard doors, changing lightbulbs, plumbing,.
  Gardening & Groundskeeping: Mowing, raking, planting, weeding, strimming, clearing bracken, and foraging (if skilled).
  Firewood & Coal Runs: Helping with firewood preparation and deliveries to cabins.
  Building Projects: Assisting with ongoing projects around the estate (specialist skills are a bonus).
  Laundry: Loading and unloading machines, ironing, and ensuring clean linen for guests.
  Event Assistance: Supporting with set-up, pack-down, waiting, and cooking/catering/cleaning for events and weddings.
  Proactive Improvements: Identifying and completing tasks independently to enhance the estate.
  
  What We’re Looking For
  
  Essential:
  
  Right to work in the UK (NI number required).
  Own transport (nearest shop is a 15-minute drive, nearest town is 35 minutes away by car).
  Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  A proactive attitude and ability to work independently without supervision.
  
  Preferred Skills/Experience:
  
  Couples: Ideal for sharing the workload and living arrangements.
  Catering & Foraging: Skills in cooking, catering, or foraging are highly desirable.
  Specialist Trades: Plumbing,,, pointing, stonemasonry or other trades.
  Previous experience in hospitality, gardening, or maintenance.
  
  What We Offer:
  
  Accommodation: Provided on-site at £50/week (deducted from wages); electricity is payable, but gas for cooking is included.
  
  Pay: National Living Wage for general work.
