Descripción
We are a small language school based in southern Morocco. We're seeking graduate and post-graduate volunteers with an excellent command of the French, German or English languages - Native speakers preferred (opportunities to teach your native language is also available). You will be required to teach our cohort of highly motivated, enthusiastic students French, English or German lessons from beginners to Baccalaureate level.

Currently we are looking to expand to provide a variety of courses to our students, if you have certain skills (have certified sports qualifications) you think our young adults would be interested in learning - please speak with us to explore opportunities.

Taroudant is a very beautiful city with a wonderful Medina with many local sites to enjoy. Our home is within easy walking distance to the Medina and school, there is public transport and a cheap taxi service if you prefer. Taroudant is a great base to explore the surrounding areas, Agadir is a one hour drive if you wish to visit the beach and surf or explore wonderful deserts with a real oasis and Casbah at Tiout, there is so much to see and do on your days off.

If you would like to experience year-round sun, authentic Moroccan cuisine or discover the mysteries of the desert, then this will be a great destination for you. If shopping in the souk, or bathing in the traditional Moroccan bath-house
(Hamman) is more your style then you will really enjoy Taroudant.

At certain times of year you can participate in Eid and Ramadan with us, people of all faiths and religions are welcome to come and join our family. So come and enjoy the diverse landscapes and excitement of the Morocco culture.

You will gain valuable teaching experience within a unique volunteer program, this will broaden your life experience and enhance your CV. You can also learn the Morocco language and customs or become involved in the Moroccan cultural events held throughout the year.

We are offering clean, comfortable, free accommodation within our family home. We provide all meals within a caring host family environment in return for 22 hours max. a week teaching (from Mon- Sat morning). Our warm Arabic hospitality, so typical of this part of the world means you can be reassured that you will be fully looked after at all times and your safety guaranteed.

Alojamiento
You will be hosted in our large family home, sharing a room with one other volunteer. This free accommodation and all meals will be provided within a caring host family environment. There is street parking available if you have your own vehicle. Plenty of outside room for gym or yoga activities.

This is a traditional Muslim family so to be respectful, there is no alcohol allowed on site.
Outdoor smoking is ok.

Wi- Fi is free and fast.

No previous teaching experience is required, but you will have a conventional, smart appearance and professional demeanor. Possessing a strong work ethic, you should be willing, polite and sensitive to the educational and psychological needs of young people and crucially, a non-drinker. Whilst it is not necessary that you are of the Muslim faith, a cultural awareness and understanding of Islam would be beneficial for your ease of integration into Moroccan society and your full enjoyment of the program.

I volunteered here for about a month back in May and June. I had an absolutely incredible time! After the two weeks that I had initially planned to stay, I came back for another ten days because I loved it so much.

The people definitely made this experience fantastic for me. My host, who also owns the institute, was welcoming, generous, and… read more friendly! She made the most delicious food, answered any and all of my questions, happily showed me around Taroudant, and took me to a Berber festival in a nearby village. Nidal was truly incredible, working a full-time job while taking care of the volunteers and her young toddler. I miss playing in the house with little Chuchu! :) There were many more constantly open, generous people in the institute and around Taroudant. The employees and others who help out at the school were so kind and made sure I ate plenty! We had many laughs as I attempted to learn bits of Arabic and French. I also became friends with some of my students, with whom I had some amazing conversations and great laughs. I also loved life in Taroudant, which some call the "Little Marrakesh."

The work was extremely challenging and equally rewarding. My project was teaching English to students, mostly ages 12-22, but also some adults. My most beginning students sometimes spoke no English (which made for some entertaining rounds of charades), and the most advanced students were fully conversational and needed a good challenge. With them, we often read articles or short stories or had deep discussions about religion or human nature. We had to work on complex vocabulary and communication skills. Sometimes I felt a little overwhelmed by all the classes I taught without any teaching experience or curriculum. Organization is not this organization's strong point. In the end, though, I really enjoyed the challenge and was rewarded with some good friends among the students. I couldn't have learned and experienced what I did without the challenge of teaching! I wouldn't exchange my time teaching at the institute for any of the easier workaway experiences I've had.

I cannot express how much I loved my time in Taroudant. After numerous workaway placements throughout the past year, I was so fortunate to end on this one. If you are flexible and looking for a challenge, a learning experience, an authentic slice of Morocco, good friends, a little chaos, and delicious food, then Taroudant is the place for you. I am still sad to be away from Morocco and the good friends I made there, but I know that I will return someday! Thank you so much to all the people who made my experience fantastic!
